Only the audaciously arrogant fired FBI Director James Comey would demand the equivalent of an apology in the wake of a blistering denunciation of his actions by the Justice Departments inspector general Thursday.
As usual, Comey has it backwards. Comey is the one who owes the American public a sincere apology for abusing his position as FBI director, violating government rules, concealing information from his former agency, leaking sensitive documents without authorization, mismarking memos without classification banners, improperly retaining records in an unsecured location, failing to surrender those records to the FBI, and assuming carte blanche authority he did not have.
All of this is contained in the IGs report disparaging Comeys behavior. Yet, the fired director has chosen to play the victim by tweeting, I dont need a public apology from those who defamed me, but a quick message with a sorry we lied about you would be nice.
Comey is not a casualty of lies. He is the richly-deserved recipient of an unprecedented condemnation meticulously spelled out in the report. He victimized himself through his repeated acts of wrongdoing. He is lucky he was not indicted. Yet.
Theft of government documents
Comey has always insisted that the seven memos he composed about conversations he allegedly had with President Trump were his own personal documents. This was absurd, of course. These memos were written in the course and scope of his employment as FBI director. He spoke with the president in his capacity as head of the bureau.
Sure enough, the IG found that Comeys characterization of the Memos as personal records finds no support in the law and is wholly incompatible with the plain language of the statutes, regulations, and policies defining Federal records, and the terms of Comeys FBI Employment Agreements.

Curtains Comey
Yeah, but what Comey gives America is a huge middle finger, as he collects a cushy retirement check.
Face it, there is a deep state that is untouchable as we are currently constituted. And given the average American’s lack of interest, there is little chance of a restructuring.
We’re going to have to watch the left, and the deep state run this country into the ground. It’s their path to globalism.
The sun will rise in the west and set in the east before Comey ever apologizes.
Eff that.
He doesn’t owe anyone anything...
We are proletariat’s and you don’t bow or apologize to those beneath you...
Sociopaths don’t apologize.................
Comey is pretty much daring anyone to do a damn thing about it. Since Trump won’t (can’t?) do it, it will either be the people or he continues to f*ck over the country.
Well that should be just fine. Just like when Janet Reno apologized for torching Waco.
Hey, At this point, what difference does it make?
That’s why Obama appointed him.
I would disagree with you, if I thought you were incorrect on any of your points.
But, I don’t believe you are incorrect at all. Unfortunately.
HE OWES US $32 MILLION FOR A BOGUS INVESTIGATION
Lets keep this FReepathon moving and git 'er done, Folks!
“Comey is pretty much daring anyone to do a damn thing about it.”
Not just him - but Strzok, McCabe, etc.
They really do have this “What the f**k are you gonna do about it?!” attitude.
Sorry, now can I go on spending the money I stoled from Americans?
Let me know when somebody's indicted.
James Comey needs to be met on any street corner, anywhere in America, in the same manner and tone that Congresswoman Maxine Waters wishes to use!!!
I’m not panicked yet till we see what happens with the FISA court issues.
Our side deserves to be taunted and laughed at by James Comey. The Media that runs this country and their fellow Deep State operatives are all going to be partying on their super-yachts laughing their collective asses off at how weak Trump and the rest of us are.
To the Deep State, the Horowitz report is a giant pile of dog crap, and Comey is going to rub all our faces in it.
The public owes Comey a debt of gratitude for exposing the way government really works.
