The New York Times has, several days after Breitbart News first exposed politics editor Tom Wright-Piersanti’s racist and antisemitic comments on Twitter, admitted the comments were in fact racist and antisemitic. A piece the New York Times released on Sunday, which described a broader operation of loosely organized supporters of President Donald Trump fighting back against the media with aggressive new tactics, was the first time the newspaper in its own pages addressed the scandal regarding Wright-Piersanti. In the piece, the Times reveals that it considers the tweets racist and antisemitic. Before this piece, the Times had only described the content as a “violation” of its standards–and Wright-Piersanti had only described the content as “offensive.” Now, for the first time on Sunday–three days after Breitbart News broke the story on Thursday–the Times admitted they were both racist and antisemitic.
The Times piece, authored by Jeremy Peters and Ken Vogel, said:
The operation’s tactics were on display last week, seemingly in response to two pieces in The Times that angered Mr. Trump’s allies. The paper’s editorial board published an editorial on Wednesday accusing Mr. Trump of fomenting anti-Semitism, and the newsroom published a profile on Thursday morning of Ms. Grisham, the new White House press secretary, which included unflattering details about her employment history.
One person involved in the effort said the pro-Trump forces, aware ahead of time about the coverage of Ms. Grisham, were prepared to respond. Early Thursday morning, soon after the profile appeared online, Breitbart News published an article that documented anti-Semitic and racist tweets written a decade ago by Tom Wright-Piersanti, who was in college at the time and has since become an editor on the Times’ politics desk. The Times said it was reviewing the matter and considered the posts “a clear violation of our standards.”

Hmmm. The tack seems to be blaming this on Trump supporters as if that will make it go away. But the Times has a real problem here. Keep him and have him as an issue every time some Jew-hating cartoon or editorial shows up in the Times? Or fire him on Monday?

Breitbartt also prints a statement issued by C.L.Sulzberger, the NYTimes’ publisher. The statement claims that the NYTimes is the victim of a smear campaign intended to intimidate journalists; and that the NYTimes will continue to publish the truth, regardless of attacks on its reporters.
Pretty pathetic.

It is reminiscent of Hillary Clinton on TV, many years ago, when we first discovered that Bill was a pervert.
I recall her saying that it was “a vast right wing conspiracy” and everybody was shocked to hear this said with such conviction and assurance that we all just lowered our heads, like the sheep we were and allowed THAT to be the story. Over and over again...”right wing conspiracy” became the story.

What F****ing “standards”? The NYT has had not real standards since the 1930’s, very few in Nam, and none since about 2004 (the John Kerry coverup of his treason and “stolen valor fakery”, plus their smear tactics against those of us in the “Swift Boat veterans (and others)” re the book “Unfit for Command”.
Since then, under commie loving Little Pinch/Punch/Red, the NYT’s has hit journalistic lows that even give the Wash. Post under Bezos a lot of competition for being the most anti-American, anti-Semitic, anti-white, anti-capitalism, and anti-crime enforcement major newspaper in the country.
In the 30s they were covering for stalin’s atrocities in the Ukraine.

So it’s all right for the left to delve into anything about Trump, his appointees, and even his nominees, but its left -wing adherents are sacrosanct. Freedom of the Press and all that.
Since Mr. Sulzberger is such an ardent supporter of the promulgation of information about people who have power, I want to see his tax returns, any contacts he has had with people of Russian origin, and any dealings the NYTimes has had with foreign banks (money laundering).
Also, whether his name appears in Epstein’s Black Book, and whether he has been a guest on Epstein’s island and/or other residences.
