Elizabeth Novak packed up her salon and moved out of Sacramento due to the mounting problems from homelessness in the California capital, and told Fox News Monday the issue is “disheartening.”
“I am angry about it as well. I wouldn’t be relocating if it wasn’t for this issue,” Novak told “Fox & Friends.”
In a viral post, Novak blasted California Gov. Gavin Newsom via Twitter, complaining that government inaction leaves residents and business owners like her having to clean up after homeless people who sleep on the streets and sidewalks.

I’d guess he’s one of the few Republicans. A good Democrat would feel ashamed to admit such a thing.
Ms. Novak, did you donate money to the Democrats? Did you vote for Democrats? Then why are you surprised that you got what you voted for?

California is a economic and environmental paradise.

The people in question are tent dwellers. They are not homeless, they are squatters.

I don't know. Did the USSR have a homeless problem? Maybe the Soviets didn't have nice homes, but my impression is that all had some indoor place with at least a bed and a toilet. What other countries have a homeless problem as we do?

Some years ago, the company I worked for wanted to build a state of the art asphalt terminal in Sacramento. The city was in favor, we could build on leased land up river.
But, by the time the state air board, the neighbor board and some other handout groups got done with us, we built the thing in Reno.

I was stationed in Sacramento (Mather AFB) 34 years ago. It was nice then. I returned to California (for short periods) in 2007 or so, LA, this time. It was like night and day, and I never went ‘downtown’. . . so I never saw the worst. . .

I lived in Santa Barbara, California many years ago.
The downtown area, including the public library, were over run with the so-called “homeless.”
From what I observed about these people, they either had mental issues, drug issues, alcohol issues, or a combination of all three. There was a smaller group who didn’t have mental issues, but just didn’t want to work at anything.
There was a story on the local news when I lived there about a “homeless” guy who had a sign, “Will Work for Food.”
A woman approached him and offered him an opportunity to do some odd jobs for her.
He refused....he just wanted a cash handout without doing the work, so his sign was a lie.
The woman got ticked off, and stood next to the guy on the street with her own sign which read, “NO HE WON’T!”

It was government action that caused the problem in the first place! The last people you want to take action are the current residents of the state capitol. Those are the bums that should be cleared out.
