2020 hopeful: Trump has refused to stand up to Israel, China, and Russia
Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D., N.Y.) said Sunday that the United States needs to hold Israel "accountable" for barring two members of Congress from entering the country.
"Should there be repercussions for Israel?" ABC's This Week host Martha Raddatz asked.
"I think as a friend and ally, we need to hold them accountable," Gillibrand said.
Last week, Israel denied entry to Rep. Ilhan Omar (D., Minn.) and Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D., Mich.) because of their support for the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement. President Donald Trump applauded Israel's decision to deny entry to the two congresswoman while a bipartisan group of lawmakers criticized Israel's decision.
Israeli officials later decided to give Tlaib permission to enter the country for humanitarian purposes so she could visit her grandmother, who lives in the West Bank. Tlaib declined Israel's offer to enter the country and visit her grandmother because of the country's "racist treatment."
"How do you hold them accountable?" Raddatz asked.
"That's what you do as president, President Trump is unwilling to hold anyone accountable. He's unwilling to stand up to other world leaders. You've seen this with instance of Israel, seen it with China and Russia," Gillibrand said.
"I don't know why Netanyahu would want to deny members of Congress to come to Israel if they expect us to be that never-ending partner and friend," Gillibrand added.
Gillibrand should be the one who is held accountable. Unfortunately New Yorkers are too dumb to do anything about her.

Garbage nonsense and as typical no serious follow up by the asinine media. No president has stood up to China or Russia more than Trump. Maybe Reagan, with Russia compares.
As for Israel, Trump has his “deal of the century” plan that is full of carrots for the Arabs. To be fair Trump has already delivered the sticks to the Palestinians and those Arab countries who remain belligerent to Israel. Now he will bring the carrots and the Palestinians will be forced to make a decision in front of the whole world.
Among the big mistakes with Oslo was allowing it all to go on in secret. Trump will unveil his plan for the whole world, maybe $50 billion or even $70 billion in economic aid mostly for the Palestinians, and Jordan and Egypt and the Palestinians will have to choose in public: Make a deal, or stick with the status quo (which has included a massive cut in aid). Their problem will be their kelptocracy - they will have to make a decision that favors their people over their PLO and Hamas leaders.
Accountable for what??
Better yet, hold the voters in their districts accountable for sending commie jihadists to Congress. We should revoke the citizenship of the people who voted for these anti-American jihadists and send all of them some shithole country to live out their days.

I think she could dodge it at the national level. It appears that’s the direction the Democrats are heading. If she plans to run for re-election in New York state, that’s another story.
