President Trump spoke out Sunday on reports his administration has been looking into buying Greenland.
"Essentially its a large real estate deal. A lot of things can be done. Its hurting Denmark very badly because they're losing almost $700 million a year carrying it," he said. "So, they carry it at great loss, and strategically for the United States, it would be nice. And, we're a big ally of Denmark and we help Denmark, and we protect Denmark."
Trump said he may be visiting Greenland in the near future, but claimed the issue was not a top priority for the administration.

Buying land is good. God quit making it, so get whats here if you can.
it is just another small Inuit tribe of about 50k. We have a lot of experience in this area and can definitely turn things around merely by allowing the ownership of private property which currently doesn’t exist. They can only own the home but not the land.
About 56K population. 80-90% Inuit.
Mainly Lutheran.
MAKE GREENLAND GREAT AGAIN
After the next democrat president, Greenland might be the last refuge for the 190 million white supremists living in the USA.
They called buying Alaska in 1865 ‘Seward’s Folly’ - Imagine if the Russians still owned it?
Let the idea simmer & people start thinking of pros & cons.
LOL. Too funny. Think I just pissed myself.
This is Trump’s version of the Green New Deal.
Nice. Too funny. You owe me a new pair of under wear since I just passed myself.
This is a great thread.
Cheers.
President Truman tried to purchase it & was turned down.
Maybe we should Sell California back to Mexico in the deal
That’s what I was hoping, exactly.
Gitmo isn’t big enough.
How can a 4th world ice planet like Hoth, with a population of 58000 people, no roads or real infrastructure, cost Denmark $700 million a year? The mineral rights along should make it self sustaining.
You know what he’s gonna do, don’t you?
He’s gonna buy Greenland, call it the Greenland New Deal, and tell AOC to kiss his ass!
If Denmark is losing $700 million per year carrying it, how much would the US lose carrying it each year? 700 billion? (Maybe Trump wants to offer to take Greenland off their hands if they pay us $350 million a year?)
If Denmark is that badly upside down on owning Greenland, the smarter move would be a long term lease of whatever land, ports, and rights we are interested it. Should cost a fraction of $700 million per year. No issues of losing sovereignty for Denmark, no rush of new “citizens” to the US.
Alcohol more likely
It would be like having our own National Ice Machine!
Newfoundland and Labrador would leapt at the chance to be the 51st state in the Union. Of the ones I know they are truly CINOs Canadians In Name Only.
