Greenland is owned by the Native inhabitants (Nuuk’s) I believe.
It’s a semi-autonomous region.
Denmark has veto power over anything related to national security.
The Chinese have attempted to purchase airfields/bases there, twice in the last 4 years.
We have a very sensitive Early Warning System at Thule AFB, Greenland. This would be put in jeopardy if China can buy a basing area.
For all of the Lefty jokes, Trump knows exactly what the significance of Greenland is.
