"Because my party's been so allergic to religious language, we've forgotten that people need to be made aware of their choice," Buttigieg told CNN.
"I've got to speak up, if only to point out the hypocrisies of those now in power," he added. "Time will tell whether that's smart politically or not."
Thus far, it seems to be working. Progressives, particularly LGBT Christians, have cheerfully circulated his critiques of the religious right and lauded the gay Christian's candidacy as a watershed moment for a community long shunted to the margins of church life.
The son of a former Jesuit, he credits Catholicism with awakening his moral conscience, but the baptized Catholic says he did not consider participating in the church as an adult because he is gay. He can be reticent about the details of his faith but has made morality a centerpiece of his campaign for president.
The teenager experienced a moral awakening in government class, Buttigieg writes, while watching a film about St. Oscar Romero, an archbishop from El Salvador who was assassinated by right-wing militants while celebrating Mass. The school's monument to aborted fetuses provided another reminder of the intersection of religion and politics, he writes.
Patrick McCurry, who taught Buttigieg in a class on morality, remembers him as a brilliant and grounded young man with a keen interest in philosophy and theology.
In June 2018, Buttigieg and his husband Chasten Glezman were married in St. James. The readings included including a passage from the Supreme Court decision legalizing same-sex marriage and an excerpt from Jesus' Sermon on the Mount.
In the excerpt, Jesus urges his followers not to "hide their lamps beneath a bushel," but to be the salt of the earth and light of the world.

Hey that was good :)
Well said your most honorable Nullness. The void is not devoid of intellect.
Joe's running mate.
Partisan Media Shills update.
Even God Himself defined homosexual lifestyle as evil and an obamanation.
Catchy tune.
here’s the thing - Yeah, he checks all the boxes and I’d go so far to say that his history is completely manufactured and/or directed in such a way to be a professional subversive politican (recall his parents are huge communists) But this was for politics pre-Trump.
Buttigieg’s ideologies (along with Obama’s) are purely typical socialist tripe meant to fulfill the socialist utopia - but in their attempt to destabilize society’s Christian morality they’ve successfully destroyed the value of their own ideology. That’s why there’s such a push on to silence dissent and “cancel” others - they’re trying to ensconce their morality but the people won’t have it because that ideology is worthless and serves only to keep those in power, in power.
It’s why the protestant reformation occurred and why Catholicsm lost power world wide - because the leadership subverted God’s word for worldly power (which is not a knock on Catholicism in general as I greatly respect the religion and institution - but like all worldly endeavours - it can be corrupted as we see today)
(Note this is also a failing in Buttigieg’s “brilliance” in that he fails to understand or even note this - as he lumps “all” religion into the pro-gay/anti-gay camp rather than the meaning and its foundations.)
Probably this is why all socialist societies fail... hmmm...
“..it’s the story of St. Pete, ex-Catholic who finds “God” by looking real hard in the [rear-view] mirror.”
FIFY.
God meets people where they are. In my experience that has been about what I should do, what God is telling me to do, and how I should better handle the challenges before me. There has been some guidance about what people are attempting to hinder me, who I should look out for, there have been Christian brothers and sisters from from all different walks of life who have lightened my load because God asked them to do so. I do not remember a time, ever, when God has commiserated with me in condemnation of anyone. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, but brother (if brother he be) Buttigiwg seems oddly smug and comfortable.
The Jesuit gay-guru James Martin has been pushing this puff-piece from his friends at CNN.
What better term could there be for a story about Mayor Pete than “puff piece.”
What a perfect quote! I already sent along to friends because it says it all in one neat package!
Isaiah 5:20 King James Version (KJV)
20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
Peter Buttigiggy?
Isn’t acknowledging ones sins and then asking for forgiveness the core of the Christian faith?
Thank you!
I keep attempting to improve it:
We live in a society where
Homosexuals lecture us on morals,
Transsexuals lecture us on human biology,
Baby killers lecture us on the death penalty,
Tyrants lecture us on human rights,
Satanists lecture us on religion, and
Socialists lecture us on economics
What say you? Too much?
Add
Leftist Haters lecture us on hate
Leftist Dividers lecture us on division
Anti-whites lecture us on racism
Pathological Liars lecture us through their Fake News
How Pete Buttigieg found God
At a meeting of his local Communist Party?
A *moral awakening* from a practicing homosexual?
Nope......
Didn’t happen.
