In a [leaked] transcript of the newspapers crisis town-hall meeting, executive editor Dean Baquet grapples with a restive staff and outside scrutiny.
...
In the 75 minutes of the meetingwhich Slate obtained a recording of, and of which a lightly condensed and edited transcript appears belowBaquet and the papers other leadership tried to resolve a tumultuous week for the paper, one marked by a reader revolt against a front-page headline and a separate Twitter meltdown by Jonathan Weisman, a top editor in the Washington bureau. On Tuesday, the Times announced it was demoting Weisman from deputy editor because of his serious lapses in judgment.

very revealing insider view of just how corrupt the NYT really is ...
Bump for later...
I wonder if all the liberal rebels remember that the first thing a revolution does is eat its parents.
He's dreaming. Trump doesn't "get a little emboldened" by anything NYT might have to say.He simply is not a bundle of anxieties to be affected by NYT's treatment of him.
Corrupt is trivial. Publisher conspiracy is not protected by the first amendment.
Real evidence of that actual conspiracy is surfacing.
The Mueller report introduced a glitch into their NPC “Orange man is owned by Putin” programmi. For a short time the NPCs were all spinning in circles repeating “Does.... not ... compute ....” while smoke came of their ears as if Captain Kirk himself had talked them into self destructing. So the enemedia including the NY Times had do a remote NPC software wipe and upload a new instruction set: “Orange man is racist and so is everyone who ever supported him”. NPC crisis averted, they are all going about their robotic outrage filled lives normally again.
Two years of “Russia, Russia, Russia,” down the drain.
why would slate post this?
LOL - great comment. YOU get the corrupt New York Times.
Later
White supremacy and racist are the new “Russia, Russia, Russia”.
No, if you are independent you report the news you don't make the news up.
“The Mueller report introduced a glitch into their NPC Orange man is owned by Putin programmi.”
A glitch in The Matrix.
I’ve suspected the NYT is where the daily morning talking points come from...
...get a little emboldened...

I have a pet peeve about the use of qualifiers like “a little bit.” It grates on me & it is ubiquitous:
“It was a little bit [kinda/sorta] scary....”
“He was a little bit [sort of/kind off]angry....”
“It was pretty much of a mess....”
etc.
It is used to diminish the following emotional noun. It is, in itself, cowardice, whether in conversation, reportage, or literature. It is flabby writing and reflects flabby thinking. It always dilutes the impact and often cancels it.
For anyone with the pedant gene and the time, go through this transcript and count the diminishing qualifiers.
My takeaway is these people are frightened weasels, not journalists, editors or even #resisters. I have more respect for the journos who advocate writing “Trump lies!” or “Trump is a racist”. At least they are honest portrayals of their prejudices, as well as impactful headlines.
However, they are also propagandist lies. The editors know this. A few of the writers know this. The base doesn’t know this and it is quite revealing to see that the pushback (overused) came from the base and from within the NYT newsroom.
Journos and readers (NYT audience) WANT lies. The editors/publishers know they cannot expose themselves that way. Rock & a Hard Place/Devil & the Deep Blue Sea. They are caught in their own contrived web of deceit.
Also. Trump doesn’t *get emboldened*. You’re correct. Trump is bold and does not need to be facilitated because he is his own individual. This shows their hubris, as if they determine Trump’s state of being. Honey Badger don’t care.
why would slate post this?

To call out the editors/publishers as weaklings and traitors to the ‘get Trump’ mandate.
Left eating its own. First casualties of the revolution.
The problem that the NYC staff is trying to resolve is that they want to include “nuance and hypocrisy” revelations in a headline-—but these are not the actual words “fit to print” but subjective opinions by the anti-Trump staff. These opinions belong in an op-ed piece or perhaps in their personal twitter accounts.
A newspaper shouldn’t look for ways to structure a headline that doesn’t accurately report the facts as newsworthy. The Times was most respected when they published complete speeches that were important enough to report on and let the readers do their own interpretation.
They are trying to read Trump’s mind according to their own beliefs as to what he means—and put in a news story. What if they are wrong and the President believes what he is saying? Simply not fair. Fake Newsroom revealed
“Ive suspected the NYT is where the daily morning talking points come from...”
that’s true, but the NYT first gets THEIR talking points directly from Democrat orders ...
You are correct. NYTCBSNBCABCWAPOMSNBCCNN is not an arm of the Democrat party. It's the other way 'round. The democrats are the political arm of the media/higher education axis.
