Sorry, protestors. That’s not our circus and you’re not our monkeys. We will avenge you with sanctions after your government crushes you in Tienanmen II: Electric Hybrid Drive Tank Boogaloo, but we’re not going to send troops to protect you.
This is heart breaking.
Coming to the physical defense of HongKong seems completely untenable. I really think they need to find a way get whatever leverage they can possibly get with China without forcing escallation.
How about we swap those people who love America and freedom for the people who want to impose communism here?
Colon Kapernick and that lesbian soccer player not happy.
What liberty REALLY means. God bless these folks, they are in for a bloody and painful short term future.
These are likely PLA infiltrators trying to create a pretext.
Embarrassing. They are not Americans, never were, and likely never will be. What are they suggesting, we annex them? Do they think singing our anthem will obligate us to be involved in an internal Chinese matter? Or give them asylum when China rightfully exercises control over its sovereign territory? Don’t get me wrong, nice to see them having more respect for America than many of our athletes, but still...
“That’s racist!”
Bump
CNN in tears.
They are NOT ‘taking a knee’.
They are taking a stand.
We Americans of today may need to pay attention, and re-learn from those in Hong Kong just what it takes to secure one’s independence. All of us living today are reaping the benefits of other folk’s sacrifice. A few of us are active warriors now, or active duty, but very, very few of us.
That is incredible!
I bet there arent any kneelers.
Not prepared to get involved militarily. Sad though, because Hong Kongers are solid people who actually appreciate freedom.
If only we could trade them for some of the crap immigrants weve taken who live on the public dole and express nothing but hatred for America.
Psst! Wanna be a state?
My suspicion is that Hong Kong will go the way of Tiananmen Square only more drawn out, so get out while you can. What they say about China and the long term doesn’t hold out where the U.S. is concerned unless we appease them. Its optional for us because they rely on theft for innovation. Hong Kong otoh is part of the same continent, they are tiny, and increasingly they are screwed. Get out while the gettings good. The best thing that can happen here is a voluntary brain drain. History indicates that China has no problem at all with the involuntary sort, and there absolutely will be a brain drain one way or the other.
While we twiddle our thumbs.
I like to trade America=-hating leftists for those that we doing the singing.
I think this is more of a recognition of the US by these protesters, than the thought that the US will soon come to the rescue.
The takeover of the airport was certain to bring a response from the mainland. I think it was a strategic blunder. They’ll achieve nothing for it, and have a big downside to boot.
The take away here is that some people around the world see the US for the amazing place it is, even though low lifes here couldn’t figure that out with a recent copy of ‘Patriotism for Dummies’.
We need to stop supporting China through trade. The Clinton’s are responsible for the power China has today through the Executive Order 12850, May 28, 1993.
Did you know Hillary was a director on the Wal-Mart board between 1986 to 1991.
