While America faces some turmoil at home, the nation is still being represented as a symbol of freedom across the globe.
Protesters in Hong Kong are singing the U.S. national anthem and flying American flags as they protest oppression under Chinas Communist Party. Specifically, protesters are outraged about Chinas new extradition laws, which weaken Hong Kongs sovereignty and gives the communist party more power over the people.

Maybe we can swap them out... illegals go home - and we take in freedom lovers from Hong Kong. Offer them part of South Florida to start over... let them build a grand city...
Hong Kong's one of the most densely populated cities in the World... they would easily be able to fit a New Hong Kong into a fairly small section of South Florida...
I bet there arent any kneelers.
+1

Tieneman I people built a Statue of Liberty. Interesting that this is so abhorrent to some here.
ROLCONs are here, too.
Not prepared to get involved militarily. Sad though, because Hong Kongers are solid people who actually appreciate freedom.
If only we could trade them for some of the crap immigrants weve taken who live on the public dole and express nothing but hatred for America.
Did the Hong Kong protester stand & sing? Bet they did
My thought exactly.
I have Freepers telling me they will not take a stand on red flag rules or any other trump endorsed gun control.. not even for their children n grandchildren.
Ha! I just said almost exactly the same thing.
Well gladly take these people......and will be just as happy to swap out some of the ones we have for them. Itd be like flushing the toilet.
Psst! Wanna be a state?
How about we swap those people who love America and freedom for the people who want to impose communism here?

Great idea! We get 7 million people who love to work and love America. They can have 7 million of our worthless leftist scum.
In fact, maybe we can make it a sweeter deal and give them 14 million.
Geesh, you don't get it.
Dont get me wrong, nice to see them having more respect for America than many of our athletes, but still...
Okay, you finally get it.
I agree we can’t go to war over Hong Kong, but the words you write are small and mean.
My suspicion is that Hong Kong will go the way of Tiananmen Square only more drawn out, so get out while you can. What they say about China and the long term doesn’t hold out where the U.S. is concerned unless we appease them. Its optional for us because they rely on theft for innovation. Hong Kong otoh is part of the same continent, they are tiny, and increasingly they are screwed. Get out while the gettings good. The best thing that can happen here is a voluntary brain drain. History indicates that China has no problem at all with the involuntary sort, and there absolutely will be a brain drain one way or the other.
While we twiddle our thumbs.
I like to trade America=-hating leftists for those that we doing the singing.
Don’t care. Tired of seeing friends come back in boxes from foreign lands because some jackass in Washington wants to make a useless gesture about ‘spreading freedom’ and then abandons any gains made at the cost of human lives because they didn’t think it through first.
There’s *already* people screaming about how we must go rescue them from the Chinese government because they’re “singing our song.” These days I am of the opinion that we should actually stop being the world police and let the rest of the world find out why that’s a bad thing.
I think this is more of a recognition of the US by these protesters, than the thought that the US will soon come to the rescue.
The takeover of the airport was certain to bring a response from the mainland. I think it was a strategic blunder. They’ll achieve nothing for it, and have a big downside to boot.
The take away here is that some people around the world see the US for the amazing place it is, even though low lifes here couldn’t figure that out with a recent copy of ‘Patriotism for Dummies’.
