Twitter locked accounts belonging to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell's and several prominent conservatives Monday, after they posted videos of left-wing protesters gathered outside McConnell's Kentucky home -- with one demonstrator calling for someone to stab McConnell "in the heart" and for McConnell to break his "raggedy" neck.
The episode prompted the McConnell campaign, known as "Team Mitch," to slam Twitter for political bias, saying the social media platform had effectively blamed the victim.
Meanwhile, observers noted, Democratic Rep. Joaquin Castro remains active on Twitter, even after he posted the names of San Antonio residents who donated to Trump.
This morning, Twitter locked our account for posting the video of real-world, violent threats made against Mitch McConnell," McConnell campaign manager Kevin Golden said in a statement. "This is the problem with the speech police in America today."
McConnell, 77, has been resting at home since tripping on his patio fracturing his shoulder on Sunday -- and the Team Mitch account posted images showing him at his residence.
In the wake of this weekend's deadly mass shootings in El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio, the hashtag "Massacre Mitch" trended on Twitter -- and some activists took their case to McConnell's residence.

I knew it would come to this.
Twitter has gone full-on censorship.
That they censor political leaders is completely unacceptable.
Give it a few months.
Bump that...
So accirding to a judge the President is not allowed to block people from his Twitter but Twitter can block a US senator?!?!
Testing to see what they can get away with.
All with an eye towards banning Trump.
The management of Twitter has gone over the edge...
Except that https://twitter.com/senatemajldr is not shut down, neither is https://twitter.com/Team_Mitch
Repeat - neither account is shut down.
Read post 67. That’s why every trump supporter needs to be on twitter. The OP quotes Fox and everyone here thinks Mitch has been deplatformed. It’s not true.
What Trump was trying to block was certain obnoxious posters that were SPAMMING in replied to his tweets. The public and Trump were still allowed a voice, and the SPAMMER was still allowed a voice, just not in comments associated with Trump tweets.
The judicial order was the usual nonsense that comes from the US court system.
And you can bet that the same illogical court system will defned Twitter's right to regulate content on its platform, whicl simultaneous fining that Twitter is not a publisher that regulates content. More utter nonsense, but that is where the legal system thrives.
The fact that you can read those twitter pages does not mean that the owner is able to add new content to them.
A court ordered Trump to unblock readers, reasoning openness was necessary to political discussion. In the same vane, Twitter has punished a means by which McConnell communicates with constituents.
no they will wail and moan after we lose the election
Yeah you GOPers
They hate your guts too
You better help us fight back
Theyre after white people too. Better get your families friends constituents et al on board.
So are electric utility companies.
More and more people are choosing to go completely "off grid" and be energy independent. [1]
Yet, those that choose to use their local electric utility could never be disconnected or have their power availability affected because of their politics.
Your local electric utility is regulated...so too should twitter (& google and facebook).
I wouldn't be surprised if Twitter is waiting until right before the election to deplatform the president.
This is exactly the case.
There are alternatives but the big players collude to block them.
True. But they weren’t deplatformed like some here are saying.
They wouldn’t dare to ban the president. He would immediately add another million or more voters to his reelection effort.
Exactly, regulate it. This is utter BS what they are doing and it is getting nearer to the actual 2020 campaign. Wait to see what happens then.
And just who do you think will be regulating it?
