A majority of House Democrats are now on record publicly supporting an impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump, according to a CNN count -- a sign of momentum for pro-impeachment lawmakers that is likely to ramp up pressure on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and House Democratic leaders.
The current number of impeachment backers may not necessarily, or immediately, change the calculation for House Democratic leadership on how to proceed as Democrats continue their investigations into the President and his administration. But it nevertheless shows that support among Democrats on Capitol Hill for an inquiry is continuing to grow.
Rep. Salud Carbajal of California became the 118th Democrat to publicly support the start of an impeachment inquiry in a statement on Friday, at least the 23rd lawmaker to do so since special counsel Robert Mueller testified on Capitol Hill last week.

I agree. Talk is cheap. It’s high time that they start proceedings.
Better yet, they should wait ‘til a little later in the year when it’ll hopefully appear to the average voters like impeachment is a politically motivated thing.

Exactly. Impeachment is coming, mostly to keep Trump off the news during the 2020 campaign cycle. Who knows, maybe they can convince enough spineless GOP Senators to vote for conviction.

Their goal (or at least Democrat leadership) is not to impeach because they know it won’t go anywhere, rather it is to keep those type of headlines going through the next election.
They want Trump to go down as the 3rd impeachment in history. Senate conviction? Unlikely but the dems don’t care. This is for the history books and to forever tarnish the Trump brand.
No they don’t. Barr and Rosenstein determined there was no obstruction. They concluded that even without the DOJ policy on not indicting a sitting President, there was no justification to indict Trump for obstruction of justice. DOJ ruled there was no obstruction.

Legally there was no obstruction. The AG has decided that the DOJ will take no further legal action. Case closed.
Exactly how did Trump obstruct justice? Mueller had no impediments to his investigation. Trump did not claim executive privilege at any time and provided all of the requested documents and witnesses. And there was no underlying crime. Agin, what or who did Trump obstruct?
