Robert F. Kennedy’s granddaughter reportedly died of an apparent drug overdose at the family’s Cape Cod compound on Thursday — the latest in a long line of tragedies to rock the storied family.
Saoirse Kennedy Hill, 22, was staying at the sprawling Hyannis Port, Mass., home of her grandmother, 91-year-old Ethel Kennedy, RFK’s widow.
By the time medics arrived to the Marchant Avenue mansion at about 2:30 p.m., the young Kennedy was already in cardiac arrest, the Hyannis News reported.
She was rushed to Cape Cod Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The New York Times said the suspected cause was an overdose, but an investigation by Barnstable police is ongoing.
The death jolted a family long haunted by tragedy.

Y’know, sometimes you have to wonder whether the rumors of the Kennedy family having been literally cursed by an enemy are based in fact.
Sad, drugs and alcohol can destroy families of every social level.
Drug addiction is a horrible thing, for any person or any family.
Legend has it that Joe Kennedy was once on an ocean liner, and some elderly rabbis were conducting Yom Kippur services in the tea room, for want of a better place, and he indignantly ordered them to leave, slapping one of the most revered among them in the face. The senior rabbi, leading the congregation, then cursed him that he’d see his sons die at the height of their glory. The only exception was Ted Kennedy, who became a fat, lecherous drunk.
Sure makes you wonder doesn’t it?

Very unusual first name, but as you may have noted - the “Kennedy” name is always included. Almost like a royal title.
I’m reminded of William ‘Kennedy’ Smith.
It’s a somewhat common Irish name.
The Kennedys at at the top of a long list of such arrogant clans.
Even lesser members have shoved others around (and much worse) as they elbowed their way through the world.
Disgusting people.
Depression and addictive personality issues have a genetic component. Throw in power, money, and fame and you have a bad mix.
The “Divine right of Kennedys” must always be respected.
Tragic for this one and prayers up. But what are illegal drugs doing at the home of a 91 year old grandmother?
The name is pure Irish Gaelic. Pronounced “Ser+sha” I believe.
Addicts are never without their drugs. It doesn’t matter where they are.

Data looks pretty well spread out across various factors, although skewed a bit towards white, 20s-40s, male.
Yeah, but getting shot by assassins isn’t generally genetically caused outside of actual royal dynasties, so that doesn’t explain all of it. “Crashed own plane” is also not usually genetically linked.
There’s also the whole “married/maiden name” thing.
The illegal drugs were probably in the younger woman’s purse or other such concealed area.

She was Paul Hill’s daughter. For those who forgot, he was one of the Guildford Four, which the movie In The Name Of The Father was about. He went through enough pain in his life without this happening too.
No Kennedy jokes? I was sitting no more than 20 feet from Michael Skakel when I heard him state...UNDER OATH...that "two black guys" killed Martha Moxley...and that their live in tutor killed Martha Moxley....and that *his own brother* killed Martha Moxley.
I've also had the opportunity to talk to Dorothy Moxley for a couple of minutes.
