Y’know, sometimes you have to wonder whether the rumors of the Kennedy family having been literally cursed by an enemy are based in fact.
Legend has it that Joe Kennedy was once on an ocean liner, and some elderly rabbis were conducting Yom Kippur services in the tea room, for want of a better place, and he indignantly ordered them to leave, slapping one of the most revered among them in the face. The senior rabbi, leading the congregation, then cursed him that he’d see his sons die at the height of their glory. The only exception was Ted Kennedy, who became a fat, lecherous drunk.
Sure makes you wonder doesn’t it?
Depression and addictive personality issues have a genetic component. Throw in power, money, and fame and you have a bad mix.
Tragic yes but how many die every day from overdoses? I get weary of the different treatment the ruling class gets when tragedy hits them.
Clean up their act and the curse might go back to being nothing.
