A 79-year-old self-described "cat lover" has been given a dose of paw and order by local authorities, who sentenced her to spend more than a week behind bars for continually doling out munchies to the neighborhood mousers.
In Garfield Heights, Ohio, it's considered a minor misdemeanor to offer food to stray cats and dogs, according to Cleveland.com. Nancy Segula, a resident of the city who has received multiple citations for feeding stray felines, was ordered by a judge last week to spend 10 days in jail, Fox 8 reports.

We don’t really have cats here. Coyote eat them.
Yup....there could be many reasons for something like that to happen. To see it up close in real-time shakes you up.
Cats have diseases that cause people to go insane.

“Round up the cats, ship them to Baltimore.
Solves two problems at the same time...................”
I like the way you think!
If I was 79 years old and some idiot prosecutor convicted me I would laugh my ass off because I would need the free medical care they would have to provide.
There’s a reason governments in the US usually never send really old people and bums to prison, there’s no money to be had, just expenses.
“some cities forbid feeding the pigeons”
Pigeons make wonderful table fare for the budgeting urban dweller.
“We dont really have cats here. Coyote eat them.”
We don’t really have too many coyotes but I have seen one. In my neck of the woods here in Eastern Virginia, when a fox moves into the neighborhood the cats and the rabbits start to disappear.
Stray cats and dogs bad. Trespassing foreigners good. WTH?
I'm going to guess that she had no children and that she was probably satisfying her need to raise children with cats.
I'm fond of animals and I believe they need to be treated with respect and compassion. However people who call their pets “fur babies” and are neglecting the human drive for a family of their own need psychological counseling.
Great idea!
YES! I hate the term “furbaby” Your furbaby is an animal. Period.
Back in the early 70s when I was working in Manhattan I saw a large flock of pigeons on the sidewalk feeding on something scattered about. Suddenly a man appeared out of the nearby alleyway with a large, long handled fishing style landing net and scoped up a bunch of them, doing a half-flip of the handle to trap them inside.
I wonder which restaurant had the pigeon special that night?
For many; animals are seen as being better than the average person.
I don’t agree one is a replacement for the other. More like a preference than a replacement.
I personally find being around my animals easy but being around family, friends, or acquaintances to be work. You might need to reassess your reasoning. Perhaps some psychological counseling is in order.
I hate cats, mostly because I am horribly allergic to them(really, like deathly allergic), and they kill countless birds(which I am also deathly allergic to).
I still feed them both.
Thanks for those links.
Correct. No children & divorced.
Sounds like my niece. She is 43 and her 12 year old daughter and her cats are her life. I see her, someday, becoming that shabby rundown cat lady when her daughter grows up and moves out.
I think you nailed it.
