A summary review of the DOJ and FBI insider group; those who were behind the 2016 election effort to block and then remove Donald Trump from office; reveals they are generally unhappy with ODNI Dan Coats being removed... Their basic disposition is one of anxiety to see Dan Coats being removed; and considerable concern that Representative John Ratcliffe will replace him... (they seem to be) collectively hoping that Coats Principal Deputy Director Sue Gordon will replace the director

I know Sue Gordon and she’s a career bureaucrat, nothing more. Like any senior SES, she’d never do anything that might smack of taking an unpopular (with anyone) position on anything. She’s the consummate go-along to get-along and get promoted if you hang around long enough bureaucrat and, with a little pressure from the CIA, FBI or any other agency, she’d retrench in the “sources and methods” defense (which is bullshit) just like Coats did.
“The Lawfare group, aka legal beach friends, allies of the DOJ/FBI small group and advocates for the position of the seditious coup plotters, are collectively hoping that Coats Principal Deputy Director Sue Gordon will replace the director; [See Here] while referencing 50 U.S. Code §3026 (a)(6)
(6)The Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence shall act for, and exercise the powers of, the Director of National Intelligence during the absence or disability of the Director of National Intelligence or during a vacancy in the position of Director of National Intelligence.”
Sue Gordon? The law cited reads that Trump has no alternative but to appoint her acting director, pending Ratcliffe’s confirmation. That’s not good. I recommend you read the article to find out why.
Why should they be commenting? They are out office and are no part of the decisions.
Can Gordon be fired?
Sue Gordon can be fired, too.
Transfer her or fire her.
“Can Gordon be fired?”
I’m sure she can be. She serves in the executive branch over which the president has complete authority. Whether or not she will be is another question.
Transfer her job to Kodiak, AK.
“The law cited reads that Trump has no alternative but to appoint her acting director”
Going through the link and reading the full article there, it comes out that a similar situation existed in the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and that the President got to choose his preferred appointee (Mulvaney).
They also laid out a scenario where the deputy DNI for intelligence integration (currently Edward Gistaro) would be the acting Director.
Stop playing games. 15 months until the next election.
If she is go along to get along maybe she will work with trump.
Thanks Manhunter.
Any thoughts on the deputy DNI for intelligence integration, Edward Gistaro; or the director the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC) (currently Vice Admiral Joe Maguire, USN (ret.)?
An article linked in the posted article hypothesizes them as options.
Honestly, I don’t know either of them. Maguire is a SEAL, so he’s probably an OK guy. We have another SEAL, Joe Kernan, as the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence (USDI), the senior intel guy in DoD. Joe’s a real good, no-BS kind of guy who is just about the farthest thing from a bureaucrat you’ll ever meet, but I doubt Trump would put another SEAL (Maguire) in a position at that level.
Time for another “Hitler Finds Out...” video.
"I may be only an acting director but don't call me shortly. And don't call me Shirley!"
“This is one way of putting folks who are loyal to President Trump in his cabinet.”
Quietly get a list of all Obumster hires and proceed with those transfers to someplace appropriate ....
The subversive vermin must be exposed and punished for their crimes. Period.
DCs death grip on USA is heavily based on bureaucracies and its multitude of laws, codes and regulations which prevent proper USGov operation.
Think about that. Real, elected government is subservient to administrative and its agents.
Clearly a huge win for enemies of USConstitution, foreign and domestic.
