Honestly, I don’t know either of them. Maguire is a SEAL, so he’s probably an OK guy. We have another SEAL, Joe Kernan, as the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence (USDI), the senior intel guy in DoD. Joe’s a real good, no-BS kind of guy who is just about the farthest thing from a bureaucrat you’ll ever meet, but I doubt Trump would put another SEAL (Maguire) in a position at that level.
An update: The “national security blog” Lawfare has emerged as a leading critic of John Ratcliffe, a supporter of replacing Dan Coats with Sue Gordon and an organizer of the Stop Ratcliffe movement, the core of which are the Deep State conspirators, Comey, Brennan, Clapper, Rosenstein, et al, who greatly fear a DNI who will declassify information that SHOULD’VE NEVER BEEN CLASSIFIED IN THE FIRST PLACE! Lawfare is closely affiliated with the Brookings Institution, the Harvard Law School and the Clintons.
While Brennan, Clapper, Comey, etc., would love to keep their illegal and treasonous activities out of the public limelight, the use of Intelligence Community assets and national security classification guidelines to remove a duly elected president and keep their efforts secret constitute a felony (probably multiple felonies).
