FULL TITLE: BREAKING: Trump Announces He is Nominating Rep. John Ratcliffe to Replace Dan Coats as DNI Chief – Coats to Leave Office on August 15
On Sunday, the New York Times and Axios reported that according to 3 sources familiar with the matter, President Trump is expected to nominate Republican Congressman John Ratcliffe to replace Coats as Director of National Intelligence.
A few hours later, President Trump officially announced he nominated Ratcliffe to replace Dan Coats.
Coats will be leaving his post on August 15; the president will be announcing the acting DNI chief shortly.
“I am pleased to announce that highly respected Congressman John Ratcliffe of Texas will be nominated by me to be the Director of National Intelligence. A former U.S. Attorney, John will lead and inspire greatness for the Country he loves. Dan Coats, the current Director, will be leaving office on August 15th. I would like to thank Dan for his great service to our Country. The Acting Director will be named shortly,” Trump said Sunday afternoon in a pair tweets.

Somebody, sorry I don’t remember who, posted on another thread today that he lives in Ratcliffe’s district and that he is a staunch Conservative and that the district is strong Republican.

I know Pence is all the rage among Christians but he seems plastic to me. Very practiced in every movement, nod of the head etc.

It is a shame, however, that the criteria list for picking the best person for any big job like this has to include:
“Which side will his replacement be on?”
Wow this is a breaking story just like a person walking on thin ice over a lake. You already know the ice is going to break with each step its just a matter of time when it does. Dollar late penny short. This was already on the morning crap shows and by noon it was well known Coates was out. At 9PM it becomes a breaking story on FR. Sounds like Fox News when they have a breaking story about a story that happened three days ago.
