Imagine being a Democrat right now. You have the House, and the Republican majority in the Senate is small. In the race for the presidency, you have every advantage with the exception of incumbency. Yes, the economy is booming but there isn’t a mainstream media or cultural institution that isn’t on your side and willing to anything to help you win. All you have to do is not act crazy and you’re 99 percent of the way home. And that’s the problem, there are no longer any sane Democrats.
The House hearing with Robert Mueller on Wednesday was supposed to be their shining moment, their chance to rally the country to their thus far rejected cause. Instead, it was another in a long line of flops. After watching it, I wanted to call a hotline to, as I put it in my podcast, report a shameless display of elder abuse.
It’s true that Mueller didn’t want to be there, but it appears everyone was wrong about the reason why. He’s not “above the fray,” as he was portrayed by liberals, he’s lost a lot of steps. Most shockingly, the hearing exposed that he was, at best, barely involved in the investigation. He was a name to put on the letterhead to give it gravitas and the appearance of bipartisanship.
The hearing left those who watched it with the realization he was an autopen to sign off on subpoenas, letters, and the final report. I’d feel pity for him were there not so much destruction in his wake. No matter how many steps he’s lost, he knew he was driving people into bankruptcy chasing a unicorn and he sat there, silently, hammering paychecks.
But Mueller’s embarrassing testimony wasn’t the only problem for Democrats. They had to polish that turd, no matter what. This was their moment in the sun.
Democrats are running out of silver bullets to take out President Trump. First, they thought he’d implode. He didn’t. They said he’d destroy the economy, it’s thriving. They swore he colluded with Russia. He didn’t. The promised the Mueller report would change minds. It didn’t. They switched their focus to obstruction of justice. No one cared.
After dozens of unfulfilled promises and shifting goalposts, even with so many advantages working for them and a team of investigators with unlimited power, they have nothing. Because facts matter, evidence matters. So much of the past 2 years has been spent trying to change that, trying to “fundamentally transform” the country into something it was created to be the opposite of, and they failed. They’re handling it about as well as you’d expect.
On Wednesday, CNN and MSNBC were worth watching, for once. It was like watching the kid who annoyed everyone in elementary school learn their parents never loved them. They and Congressional Democrats wanted a way out. But it’s too late, they’re pot-committed.
By the next day they were back to their old form, calling for impeachment because, well, just because. The alternative would be to talk about their ideas – socialized medicine, American taxpayer-funded health insurance for illegal aliens, open borders, higher taxes, etc. They don’t want the public knowing that’s what they’re advocating for any more than the American public wants it.
Donald Trump’s existence and persistence is Chinese water torture to the left, and they’re at the breaking point. They’re down to the last gift box on Christmas morning and they know the “official Red Ryder, carbine action, two-hundred shot range model air rifle” not only isn’t in it, it’s not hiding behind the desk either.
They simultaneously declare impeachment proceedings must begin now because “no one, not even the President, is above the law,” without offering evidence of a crime beyond existing wrong in their eyes. They also do it while advising illegal aliens on how to thwart our immigration laws and avoid consequences. It seems some people are, in fact, above the law.
The drooling and incoherence will continue, as will the digging. Democrats know they’re drilling a dry well, but as long as they’re still drilling they can keep those on the hook from realizing they’re being hoodwinked.
And that’s where the Democrats are now – they’re the homeless guy losing an argument to a lamppost on a street corner. If they had the capacity to be sane, or even fake it for a while, they’d be doing it. Reality and the public’s understanding of it has taken the last sliver of rational thought they had, and with it their dignity. Donald Trump’s success and Robert Mueller’s testimony has driven them to the edge of crazy. On the plus side for them, carbon footprint was very small since it was a very short drive.
I generally enjoy his daily podcasts. Entertaining with being over-bearing or annoying like Sean Hannity.
The rot of the democratic party and its decades long destruction of our once great cities has reached an epic point. Two years of nothing but get Trump, no desire to work across the isle for the good of the “American people” the citizens who pay to have this country run efficiently elect lawmakers to ensure protect and continue its success, our success. The choice is clear. But we need to hold those responsible for this soft coop attempt and all its criminal behavior. If we do not it will be back ten fold and we will lose it all. Rust never sleeps
I have a couple libs at work telling me with a straight face that America is a land of immigrant unless you are Indian. I mean, whatever happened to a republic of representation of taxpypayers... our new form of government is everyone is a migrant, the world owns America...
The only difference between the Democrats of today and the Democrats in the past is that they knew they had to hide their real agenda from the public.
Running up to the 2016 election they all felt a collective relief that they would no longer have to hide what they really wanted - a socialist America.
They knew with 200% certainty that Hillary would win and they would have it all. When Hillary lost they could not believe it. Reality met fantasy and they choose to live in the fantasy.
Almost everything they believe is fantasy. But like a child at Disneyland they want to believe the characters walking around are real and not just cast members in costume.
So for them it is easy to believe a male can get pregnant!
Or that an individual can choose what gender they are regardless of biology.
Or that it should be a crime to use the wrong pronoun when addressing an individual that is confused about what they are.
Or that it is reasonable to open our borders to the world and then pay for all their care without once wondering what it would do to our nation (both financially or culturally).
The list is almost endless.
The common tread is “emotion”. How they feel about something counts way more then mere facts. Which explains why they can not back away from the path they choose. They just feel they are correct and anyone that disagrees with them is wrong.
In all seriousness, this is creating a dangerous situation for our nation. To have so many powerful people living in a fantasy world.
It is not going to turn out well for our nation.
The DNC has long embraced the agenda of the communist CPUSA.
The only difference now is the DNC has pulled off the mask and is openly proclaiming they are anti-American communists.
It occurs to me recently we really need to rethink this entire thing. Our real enemies are the Brown Shirt Media. For so long we had thought the DNC was “HQ” and everything was subsidiary. Realize we were 180 degrees wrong. The Rat politicians are just puppets. Which is why they seem to do such amazing “jerky” things all the time.
The media and the DEMs did a fine job in 2018, taking back the House. The left can do idiotic stuff but still get elected. 2020 is not a slam dunk for Trump and the GOP at least retaining the Senate.
More proof of the president in name only. Obama's complete contempt for America was never more evident.
Just went through the motions.....now we know this frightning scene meant "get Trump by any means necessary."

Like a slave is owned by her Master. That’s what it boils down to. There is no hope for people who view the United States that way to ever be Americans. They might look good on paper someday but with that attitude, they’d have nothing to bring but their unrealistic expectations.

The CPUSA was outlawed in 1954. Now how can we get the Democratic Party outlawed, too?
Keep in mind, the GOPe is working hand in hand with the RATs in promoting socialism. They need to be totally “purged” from the party, and the party strengthened with American-loving conservatives. A vote for a GOPe azzclown is the same as a vote for a RAT azzclown.
The left can do idiotic stuff but still get elected.
The phrase “all politics is local” comes into play when you see how easy it is for the Democrats to keep getting re-elected.
Once you realize that honesty is not important to the Democrats all else makes sense.
Want to get elected in a particular district find out what the voters care most about. Does not matter what it is, you are not really going to do anything about it, but you do have to express the same concerns.
If the district mostly of one group, then you candidate must be from that same group.
If you are a Democrat the local media will ignore or cover up any misdeeds your candidate has while at the same time expose any real (or imagined) misdeeds of the opponent.
Once elected the media will once again provide cover on why the candidate has not full filled any campaign promises although they are working 24/7 to do so.
Repeat every election cycle.
Do you ever tell them they should move back to Europe and leave America for the Indians?
Our real enemies are people like George Soros.
The ‘sane’ Dems got pushed into the Independent category.
Have "Town Meetings" and 'listen' to the potential voters.
