Dr. Roy Spencer, who has a Ph.D. in meteorology, writing in An Inconvenient Deception, states that compared to Al Gores warnings of a sea-level rise of 20 feet, the actual measurement is one inch per decade for over 150 years with no observed acceleration.
This could not be true if it were anthropogenic (human-caused), since there has been ample time for acceleration since 1940, which is the earliest that humanitys greenhouse gas emissions could have had any substantial effect. Sea-level rise is a process that is mostly natural since it predates the Industrial Revolution, Dr. Spencer explains.
This may be small comfort to the people living in Miami Beach, for example, where sea-level rise has been worse than the average. But a 2017 study reported that the land is sinking at a rate of 3 mm per yearequal to the sea-level risecausing a doubling of the effect and magnifying the rise of water at lunar high tides.
No one should deny climate change per se. It is a characteristic of the planet upon which we live.

Yes it is a thing of the past.
300 ft at the end of the most recent (not the last, there will be more) ice age.
About 5000 ft in the Mediterranean when the natural dam at what is now the straights of Gibraltar failed.
Those both happened, and were both in the past...
The Vikings colonized portions of Greenland and were able to plant warm-weather crops such as potatoes.
No doubt because of the increased use of AC in ‘yewwwwrope’.
Well that is inconvenient. /s
Check photos of the moat at Fort Monroe. The tide has been changing there for 150 years. There may be an inch of movement there but whatever it may be it is pretty negligible.
The sea level rise issue comes from ignorance on the part of some, deception by others, and invalid and incorrect assumptions by some so called “scientists” regarding when oceans & ice evaporates due to greater warming, where will all that water go.
While I do not support their thesis, their own error is in how much the greater evaporation of seas and ice will return to the seas. Yes, all rivers do eventually flow to the seas. But what they vastly under estimate is (a) how much water can and will be retained in existing and possibly new land-locked lakes and (b) how much water will be added to the land-based water table and underground reservoirs and aquifers. They also under estimate how a greener planet will have a greater abundance of green plants which will absorb great amounts of water also.
That is only to suggests, that there is every possibility that the greater warmth they predict, even if it nears that prediction (not saying it will), could conceivably NOT produce all the calamities they claim it will. Changes yes, but not necessarily calamities.
Interesting:
Icelandic saga accounts of life in Greenland were composed in the 13th century and later, and do not constitute primary sources for the history of early Norse Greenland. Modern understanding therefore mostly depends on the physical data from archeological sites. Interpretation of ice core and clam shell data suggests that between 800 and 1300, the regions around the fjords of southern Greenland experienced a relatively mild climate several degrees Celsius higher than usual in the North Atlantic, with trees and herbaceous plants growing, and livestock being farmed. Barley was grown as a crop up to the 70th parallel. What is verifiable is that the ice cores indicate Greenland has had dramatic temperature shifts many times over the past 100,000 years. Similarly the Icelandic Book of Settlements records famines during the winters, in which “the old and helpless were killed and thrown over cliffs”.
One of the last contemporary written mentions of the Norse Greenlanders records a marriage which took place in 1408 in the church of Hvalseytoday the best-preserved Nordic ruins in Greenland.
These Icelandic settlements vanished during the 14th and early 15th centuries. The demise of the Western Settlement coincides with a decrease in summer and winter temperatures. A study of North Atlantic seasonal temperature variability during the Little Ice Age showed a significant decrease in maximum summer temperatures beginning in the late 13th century to early 14th centuryas much as 6 to 8 °C (11 to 14 °F) lower than modern summer temperatures. The study also found that the lowest winter temperatures of the last 2000 years occurred in the late 14th century and early 15th century. The Eastern Settlement was likely abandoned in the early to mid-15th century, during this cold period.

There simply isn't enough of the essential plant nutrient CO2 in the current atmosphere to feed twice the greenery as we have now.
Every time the Erf’s temperature rose a few degrees life flourished.
If you like living things, you must embrace warming...
Exactly right!
No excuse for such a mistake.
Yes, mea culpa. My fingers typed faster than my brain. I should have said “most” rivers, not all rivers, as some, like the Truckee River do not end at an ocean.
LOL! I suppose if you consider evaporation eventually falling as precip over the ocean.
*ping*
Just got back from Miami Beach and the Keys.
No change in the last 14 years!
If anything the sea level looked lower at high tide!
The people of Miami building houses and condos on the water ways and canals with living space at ground level are just plain stupid.
On the program CSI Miami, the opening sequences traverse many such areas that are doomend. If not completely wiped away by a hurricane direct hit, the damage will be beyond measuring.
Greedy realestate sales people that developed such certain calamaties should be drug into the street and shot. Their sins are unforgivable
“LOL! I suppose if you consider evaporation eventually falling as precip over the ocean.”
My point is I do not. But the climate alarmists think that (a) arctic and antarctic ice merely melts into the ocean and little of that goes to evaporation, and (b) less than they estimate is precipitation of all kinds that never goes to the seas. They over estimate evap & precip that will go to “sea levels”.
