CHICAGO (AP) A sweeping expansion of deportation powers unveiled this week by the Trump administration has sent chills through immigrant communities and prompted some lawyers to advise migrants to gather up as much documentation as possible pay stubs, apartment leases or even gym key tags to prove theyve been in the U.S.
But the uncertainty about how the policy might play out has created confusion and made it harder to give clear guidance to immigrants. Attorneys and immigrant rights groups gave conflicting advice about whether to carry these documents.

They always leave out the word “illegal”.
Flimsey Grahamnesty is holding out for amnesty for all.
Any amnesty will be wider than the 700,000 who signed up for the illegal DACA caca and be riven with fraud.
I’m not sure what the final numbers will be, but unfortunately there will be some type of deal for amnesty. POTUS already offered 1.8 million DACA kids back in Jan of 2018 which the Dems shot down. Washington doesn’t have the stomach to deport every single body who isn’t a U.S. citizen.
Back in middle 1990’s Doris Meissner of the Ford Foundation and others collude with Democraps to change our immigrant criteria to chain migration from Mexico and Central America to change our voting demographics and get rid of whitey.
Democraps first legislation passed with Clinton was Motor Voter. They almost did us in. If there is any amnesty for illegals of any stripe then at same time slap on an immigration moratorium for decades.
This country has been changed forever. Populated by the low IQ and dysfunctional takers.

I can live with that. Etc....until all gone.
The IRS and SS both know. I think that's why President Trump signed that executive order for departments to count the illegal aliens after losing the census question. Until that executive order these departments had no green light to gather this information.
I can foresee President Trump rolling this out during the campaign and making Democrats defend identity theft by illegal immigrants.
When you think about it the banks and the credit companies know about all this as well. They let these people obtain leases and mortgages on these stolen numbers and notice how it doesn't come up if you go into your credit check.
Party’s over!

“Also Trump is holding out for a deal on immigration that gives some of the DACA kids a pathway to citizenship.”
I have not heard Trump specifically support a path to citizenship. I’ve only heard him talk generically about “fair” solutions for DACA kids which might include permanent legal residency with the right to work. Assumedly, voluntary military service would be a viable path to citizenship. Probably there will be a path to citizenship for DACA kids, but I think Trump wants to be sure it is stipulated they cannot be criminals and get citizenship.
During the Trump roundup this should be done.Check the precinct list of registered voters where these people resided. If theyre on that list, Federal crime, charge them and those that enabled them to vote knowing they were illegals. If ebough noise is made it should discourage illegals still here from voting. Besides determining how they got a drivers license show how much its costing taxpayers of that state. Also point out increased premiums on drivers insurance rates
As Trump expands deportation powers, immigrants prepare
President Trump is not expanding deportation powers. He is enforcing existing immigration laws. Which he is required to do by his oath of office.
...immigrants prepare
Hey AP, why don't you call them what they actually are? Illegal aliens. They are here illegally.
“When you think about it the banks and the credit companies know about all this as well. They let these people obtain leases and mortgages on these stolen numbers and notice how it doesn’t come up if you go into your credit check.”
Trump is working on that too:
Banks fighting the fastest-growing financial crime in the U.S. have found an unlikely ally: the Social Security Administration.
Banks have spent years lobbying Congress for better access to the agencys data as a way to fight costly forms of identity theft. Now, the agency has invited lenders and other firms to join a planned real-time electronic system for verifying that credit applicants names match their Social Security numbers.
