Democrats express private disappointment with Mueller testimony
The Hill ^

Posted on 07/25/2019 4:59:54 PM PDT by janetjanet998

Several rank-and-file Democrats in the House are feeling deflated over former special counsel Robert Mueller's public testimony, with some blaming the media and their own party for overhyping hearings they say fell short of expectations.

While many Democrats publicly heralded Mueller’s testimony before the House Judiciary and Intelligence committees as a resounding success, some privately expressed disappointment in his, at times, shaky performance, the brevity of his answers and the lack of a big moment that would have shifted the electorate's sentiment on whether President Trump was guilty of obstruction.

Where is all the media polling data? If it is a topic hurtful to Trump they usually have instant live polling or something or data put the next day

And then repeat it every fifteen minutes as "breaking news" for the next twenty-four hours.

Great observation. If they're not trumpeting it to the sky, the news must be bad indeed.

Elizabeth MacDonald, on her show Evening Edit on Fox Business, ran a clip of a scene on CNN from last night.
David Gergen, a real PITA, but this time he was genuinely surprised that the Republicans on the Committee were so well informed and prepared to ask questions.

Mr. Gergen, to my shock, said...the republicans were asking questions that he had no idea of the facts that they were questioning.

So..CNN actually, hard to believe, and their anchors and experts had never heard all the facts about the last two and a half years.

If he wasn’t so sincere I wouldn’t have believed it.

It's just the result of their mental illness.....

they can either face reality...or...continue to “blame” someone or something besides themselves....the really sick ones will come up with another "boggie-man besides themselves...its the nature of the illness....

The democRATS biggest mistake in these Mueller hearings was that they thought since the public hadn't read the 480 page Mueller report itself, that they could convince the American people that Trump was a criminal deserving to be impeached and removed from office by having Mueller himself testify as to its content and televising it on TV and online.

Boy were they ever wrong. Even the MSM was discounting the effectiveness of these hearings and they were not hesitant to claim that Mueller was a big fat dud.

First, for some reason, they thought the hearings would move the needle on Trump's alleged guilt, especially on the obstruction charges. It has not.

And secondly, Mueller performed so badly in his testimony, that anybody watching could see that the case against Trump only improved the more Mueller talked and looked like he didn't know what he was doing up there on the witness stand.

And lastly, the American people have already moved on from the Mueller report, while the democRATS are still counting on it to win the 2020 election. Trump's not guilty of anything.

This was a Lose-Lose-Win situation today. The democRATS and Mueller lost big time. Trump won the day going away.

i suspect their “disappointment” was more like increased panic about the fact that their 2020 election chances are going down the tubes ...

The democRATS made a colossal miscalculation that Mueller testifying would turn this collusion and obstruction of justice disaster back into the face of Trump.

Instead, as usual, it blew up in their own faces.

Trying to squeeze impeachment out of this lemon will only result in the stake being driven deeper into the heart of their 2020 presidential election chances.

I think, barring unseen circumstances, that the mess they made of this after the media hyped it so much, is the final nail in their coffin.

Trump won the day going away.

One of the darker and more disgusting moments in our congress’ history. And our country’s.

Dems would have Trump arrested in put in prison with no trail if they could.

Despicable. and baseless.
