In Eisenhower's 1954 SOTU address he stated his desire to strip the citizenship of the American Commies. President Trump simply asked the current "Commie Squad" to leave.
Ike was a great American unlike some Freepers.
LSD is not good in the morning.
How’s this? He refused to defend the Philippines, because he wanted MacArthur out of the 1940 presidential race? Go find out for yourself: under Roosevelt, colleges like Harvard were still generally pro-American. Eisenhower’s CIA pumped hundreds of billions of dollars into institutions to make them leftist, officially to impress Soviet intellectuals that America was decent.
You’re a kook. Ike was a hero and deservedly so.
Do you not admit he was the most socialist president the U.S. ever had, up until Pres. Obama?
Do you not admit that he oversaw the complete destruction of the Republican Party, rebuilt by Ronald Reagan.
Do you not admit that in dozens of nations, Eisenhower either funded “anti-colonial” revolutions, in spite of the Marxist leanings of their leaders, or else forbade governments such as Cuba’s from victory over them?
Do you not know that Eisenhower was the driving force behind the Roosevelt administration’s abandonment of the Philippines?
Do you not know that Eisenhower was FDR’s political hatchet man in the U.S. Army, who became a Republican only to win election?
Did you ever hear about Eisenhower’s Operation Mockingbird, which kept socialists in control of institutions such as CBS, the New York Times, the Washington Post, Time-Life, the Washington Star, and the Christian Science-Monitor, until disbanded by George H. W. Bush?
Have you never heard of Propaganda Assets Inventory?
Did you know that Eisenhower’s CIA pumped billions to transform higher education into the left-wing extremist bastions they are... while at the very same time pumping hundreds of billions of dollars through grants and state-funded universities to drive out conservative thought from universities? (Read about the Land’o’Lakes Conference, and it’s absolutely horrifying effect on American Catholicism!)
Buckley wasn’t God; he knew none of these things. We do.
I would agree post WWII there wad a “globalist” push from the right wing. He was a part of that.
Who is the "we" you are referring to?
In fascism (the European variety) traditional religion was encouraged as a building block of society (so long as it supported the political purposes of the state); in communism it was subject to utter extermination; in fascism free enterprise and private ownership was allowed and encouraged (so long as it served the political purposes of the state); in communism it was, like religion, subject to extermination and confiscation.
I am no fan of fascism (having had family members murdered under fascist occupation and others who fought it in WW2). But if I had to choose between living under one of these two systems (and I HAVE lived under communism in my youth), its a "no-brainer".
I'll just add that Ike did more to stop the commies (in behind-the-scenes secret third world conflicts) than any president. He was a real patriot, and, what's more, feared by the commies who had no doubt what he was capable of.
This is nothing compared to how Ike dealt with illegals...
Operation Wetback
United States immigration law-enforcement campaign
https://www.britannica.com/topic/Operation-Wetback
from link:
“Operation Wetback, U.S. immigration law enforcement campaign during the summer of 1954 that resulted in the mass deportation of Mexican nationals (1.1 million persons according to the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service [INS], though most estimates put the figure closer to 300,000). Drafted by U.S. Attorney General Herbert Brownell, Jr., and vetted by Pres. Dwight D. Eisenhower, Operation Wetback arose at least partly in response to a portion of the American public that had become angry at the widespread corruption among employers of sharecroppers and growers along the Mexican border and at the Border Patrols inability to stem the influx of illegal workers.”
These measures (leading to communism) of course will be different in different countries. So fascism is merely a rebranding of communism, with the use of the aforementioned different measures to establish control. Mussolinis fascistic goals of true equality, social justice and evident worldwide wealth redistribution are pure Marxist communism, along with his open belief in the nonexistence of God.
Manifesto, chapter 2
It is impossible, of course, to carry out all these measures at once, but one will always bring others in its wake. Once the first radical attack on private property has been launched, the proletariat will find itself forced to go ever further, to concentrate increasingly in the hands of the state all capital, all agriculture, all transport, all trade. All the foregoing measures are directed to this end; and they will become practicable and feasible, capable of producing their centralizing effects to precisely the degree that the proletariat, through its labor, multiplies the countrys productive forces.
The Principles of Communism
Suppression of political dissent is the one area where the commies and fascists were similar, however. Of that there is no doubt.
So if I accepted that I would have no political voice, would I rather live in a place that allowed me to make a living, worship in peace, and keep a significant portion of the fruits of my labor - or one that kept me working as basically a slave, persecuted me if I tried to worship, and kept me poor?
As I said - that's a no-brainer.
You have a strange concept of “right-wing” if it includes Eisenhower.
You offer nothing in the way of proof, with equal due respect.
Mussolini’s declaration of the nonexistence of God as a fascist is proof that he remained a communist till the end. There is no difference in the way he manipulated the “workers” either, promising “social justice”, “true equality” and wealth redistribution.
And with respect to Franco, he was more resistant to getting away from socialistic economic policies than other former Axis nations, particularly in response to being left out of the Marshall Plan. He finally relented in 1958, but before that, Spain remained quite backward.
Red China’s current economic practices echo that of Lenin’s New Economic Policy and also those of Mussolini and the NSDAP. This is reflected not only in what I quoted from the Communist Manifesto and Principles of Communism, but also when Khrushchev talked of “many different paths to socialism”. Not a new idea at all.
Nice.
