LA Now The ‘City Of Rats’? Report Warns Of ‘Alarming Increase’ In Rodent Population

“California is being overrun by rodents – and without immediate emergency action by state and local government, we face significant economic costs and risk a public health crisis,” said Carl DeMaio, chairman of Reform California, at a news conference Tuesday at City Hall in downtown Los Angeles.

DeMaio highlighted the findings of the group’s new report which cited an increase in the state’s homeless population, along with elimination of the most effective pest control tools, as “significant” factors on the ongoing crisis.

The study surveyed nearly two dozen private pest control companies that operate throughout California and found all of them reported that Rat Service Requests were up “substantially” in the last 12 months.

Pest control professionals and sanitation workers told the survey team they observed an “alarming increase” in Norway rats moving around during the day, behavior that experts described as “highly abnormal”.

LA has also been attempting to reduce the canine and feline population in the area - remember what happened the last time someone thought that was a good idea? Europe’s Black Death, anyone?

“...PETA has a rats are people too radio ad campaign...”

I would agree with PETA...very difficult to tell the difference between DemocRATS and RATS.

And in the death,
As the last few corpses lay rotting on the slimy Thoroughfare,
The shutters lifted in inches in Temperance Building, High on Poacher's Hill.
And red, mutant, eyes gaze down on Hunger City.
No more big wheels.
Fleas the size of rats sucked on rats the size of cats,
And ten thousand peoploids split into small tribes,
Coveting the highest of the sterile skyscrapers,
Like packs of dogs assaulting the glass fronts of Love-Me Avenue.
Ripping and rewrapping mink and shiny silver fox, now leg-warmers.
Family badge of sapphire and cracked emerald.
Any day now,
The year of the Diamond Dogs.

‘> sanitation workers told the survey team they observed an “alarming increase” in Norway rats <

The solution is simple. Deport all illegal aliens who come from Norway.

Why do I always have to think of everything?’

No no no.

We need emergency funding to build that high-speed train from LA to San Francesspool. Those rats in LA will quickly board. On arrival, they will gobble up all the streetside fecal deposits. When they need a place to procreate and sleep, there are plenty of tents and sleeping bags!

Since all the free needles in the world won’t stop the spread of cholera and other epidemics, multiple problems will be solved.

Norway rats?! That just won’t do, too Eurocentric, white supremacist, etc! They need to import rodents from Central and South America! Get to it, comrades! /s;)

I think we need to get rid of the 2 legged ones before the 4 legged ones. Due to the fact that the 2 legged ones can do an enormous damage.

Of course it is the City of Rats. Didn’t most of Hillary’s popular vote plurality come from LA County?

Four-legged rats are furry, curious, intelligent, and can be domesticated. On the other hand, the two-legged kind are irredeemable.

Are these rodents found in Beverly Hills or Bel Air? Or on the campus of UCLA?

That and things like it are a valid concern because its not just places in California that has suddenly seen an inexplicable explosion of rats. Its happening in places without any significant homeless problems or street feces or swarming illegals or any of the other things people assume is causing this.

............. and the Cal legislature is considering banning the most effective rat poisoning despite testimony from leading exterminators

And even now second-generation anticoagulant rodenticides (SGARs) - which can be consumed and ingested leading to death after even one single feed - is now only licenced for use by accredited commercial and agricultural pest control services. In addition to the general public sales ban of second-generation rodenticides, the law also restricts the locations where these super-toxic poisons can be applied, limiting it to within 50 feet of any man-made structure. - https://citypests.com/is-rat-poison-legal-in-california/

Being in a densely populated city, we used to get this (2 Pack) Neogen Rodenticide when it was under 25 for 8lbs but bought JT Eaton 709-PN Bait Block Rodenticide( 9 lb Pail of 144) last time for 25.00.

LA was ALWAYS overrun by rodents, red rats, but this time the only difference is that they have four legs instead of two.

Somebody should let a boatload of rats loose in the capital building in Sacramento. That might make them change their tune.
