Whoops, at least I got that in the fourth time. ;6)
Under the “Now I can talk about it” catagory:
I used to have a job paying health insurance claims for an insurance company. The company was Equitable. In the 1980’s.
It drove me nuts when someone would call up and ask about
“Preven-ta-tive” Care. There is no such term as Preventative.
You don’t put any ‘ta’ between Preven and tive!!
I just had to accept this as a popular MISpronunciation.
There was nothing I could do about it without sounding rude ,distracted or crazy over the phone. So I bit my tongue...over & over again!
“maybe she was confused and thinking of the word hamper “
The boss should hampmer that very thought home.
" There ain't no freak in french fries." (at 55 seconds)
If her boss told her it was spelled c-a-t, she should have said “OK, Boss.” and made the corrections.
Good thing it wasn’t a gerbil!................
The social justice bridge project has already gone bad.
LOL
I suspect that that is how I probably spelt (Webester’s says that spelt can be spelt that way so spell check can GTH) it.
But I would not have messed up Concord. I knew it, Lexington, and the rest quite well enough.
So very true...
Lol!
Don’t you know it!
Why do I believe that if Carol Blymire had not been Caucasian, she would have “won” her argument?
Are you series?
Two things.
This chick was under the influence of The Hampster Dance.
or
She grew up in New Hampshire. I saw a Google link that made sense. People in NH are prone to spell it “Hampster”.
In any event - Millennial chick is dumb.
Very series. I’m stuned you would ask.
This story explains how AOC had a dual-major degree from a university that probably cost $200,000+ for an undergraduate degree, and she was working as a bartender five years after graduation.
Whaddya know, Wikipedia has accommodated her misspelling!
Their Redirect page:

When I read stories like this, I wish I could un-retire.
On my last job where I was construction manager of YUGE project in Canada, eh?, with a construction camp, a group of young men and three women requested a meeting with me to discuss the camp facilities. Essentially, large dorm trailers, single rooms, some en-suite bathrooms, some communal, small gym, plus volley ball nets.
Pretty Spartan actually.
The little darlings pranced into my office and began a whineathon about lack of sufficient recreation facilities, and not enough vegan choices on the menu, etc, etc. We had about 2,000 workers in camp at the time.
I politely listened to their complaints and then told them that not everyone is cut out for camp-supported projects, and if they were unhappy they should pack up their shit and get the hell out, (actual words). I offered to send a couple of guys to their rooms to help them pack.
They left my office with their little lips protruding and trembling, and they stayed on the job and never said another word.
Gee I miss those projects!!
