A sudden outburst of mob justice Thursday night in Philadelphia ended with a carjacker dead and a 25-year-old man being questioned by police Friday after the thief's attempt to snatch a running vehicle -- with the man's children inside -- reportedly went awry.

Other than mom being a complete idiot I don’t really have much of a problem with how things ended.
When authorities fail in their duties to protect citizens and their property people will do so on their own. That’s human nature. Trying to fight that is silly.

It’s great when young men can come together and do something positive for the community.
A remember when a guy was murdered in front of his own child by carjackers in Philadelphia. I’d love to see more stories like this one.
If I’d seen it, I’d have had a sudden memory failure when asked abouit it.
The car is today’s horse. Horse stealing plus kidnapping. Both were traditionally capital crimes.

They not only fail to protect citizens, they also fail to mete out punishment that serves to deter further criminality. Most thugs have arrest records a mile long so obviously the justice system is not working.
Things that don’t work get replaced by things that do. Just saying

A better analogy is the motorcycle as today’s horse, where he rides alone. The car is more like today’s wagon.
Well, no excuse or pity for the jacker, but the momma should be taken away for child neglect. leaving 3 under 5 y.o.s in the car with motor running? In the hood?....

Not one name in the story, not even the dead car jacker. That makes me suspicious that this is a hoax.
