Trump says he will 'no longer deal with' UK's ambassador to US

President Trump on Monday said he would “no longer deal with” the U.K.’s ambassador to the U.S. after leaked cables revealed the diplomat’s blunt assessment of the Trump administration.

In a pair of tweets, Trump bristled at Ambassador Kim Darroch’s description of him as “inept” and suggested a new British government could make changes.

“I do not know the Ambassador, but he is not liked or well thought of within the U.S. We will no longer deal with him. The good news for the wonderful United Kingdom is that they will soon have a new Prime Minister,” Trump wrote.

The British embassy in Washington did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Even as Trump showed his anger with being criticized by a foreign official, he went after outgoing British Prime Minister Theresa May, whose office expressed “full faith” in Darroch, over her handling of Brexit.

“What a mess she and her representatives have created. I told her how it should be done, but she decided to go another way,” Trump wrote, adding that “while I thoroughly enjoyed the magnificent State Visit last month, it was the Queen who I was most impressed with!”

The dust-up was highly unusual for two close allies, but it showed how the leadership turmoil in the U.K. is having an effect on the transatlantic alliance.

He said DJT was inept, Nigel says he was inept putting his views online instead of in a diplomatic pouch.

These were diplomatic cables that the British press are leaking. They are as secure as the diplomatic pouch is supposed to be.

Seems Trump could reject the UK ambassador’s credentials, and declare him Persona Non Grata …

well.......while I personally wouldn’t have added that little dig about the British ambassador not being liked....
this is one of the things the American public loves about PDJT....that when someone throws some slop at him.. he tosses it back.
The UK will have no difficulty finding a much better, more tactful ambassador, and they must plug up their leak, too....

Trump said “WE will no longer deal with him”. When he says, “we”, that means the Executive Branch of the US government. You understand, right, that the State Department is part of the Executive Branch and that Trump is Chief Executive?

Darroch might as well book a flight back to the UK. He’s finished here. Good riddance. One less scum bag in D.C.

No need to do that. Just grant Tommy Robinson political asylum, and watch their heads explode.

Seems to me that the State Department should just declare him persona non grata and have him recalled to the UK.

Advice to the new British Ambassador when one is named…avoid the Georgetown cocktail parties, there is nothing to be gained.

"How much did he deal with him before? Ambassadors work through the State Department."

"WE will no longer deal with him"

The brits might as well put this guy on a plane and send him back, he’s done here.

These leaks came from a year or two ago and most of the stuff he was spouting in the cables was just standard CNN news feed. It doesn’t matter, President Trump isn’t exactly known for embracing people that criticize him. I can’t blame him, no human in history has has as much slander and outright BS written about him. If he didn’t fight back the news media would have long since broken him. What the brits, and the big city leftist in this country, don’t realize is that Trump has almost unanimous support outside of the coastal areas. He’s supported by a lot more Americans than they think since they only interact with the bubbles of Washington D.C. and New York.

The brits can make the argument that the cables were supposed to be secret and that’s true. I suggest they do a better job keeping them secret next time. This goat can’t be unscrewed and Trump’s said he’s done. Britain has the right to pick their ambassador but that doesn’t mean that the president has to talk to him. An ambassador no one in the administration will talk to isn’t going to be very useful.

Declare him persona non grata (sp?) and give him 48 hours to leave if the British government won’t remove him. How can even Teresa May be so hard headed over this???

UK would retaliate in kind. This will be handled behind the scenes.

Trump is a counter puncher. He knows corrupt people will ultimately show their true colors so he was all nice and friendly with Theresa May (as he’s been with Macron and others) but he doesn’t trust them.. If Trump had been critical of May from the outset he would have gotten a lot of flack. Instead, he gives people like May, Macron, etc. enough rope to hang themselves. The thing is, Trump is still in office and Theresa May is on her way out. Funny how that works.

You nailed it. After two and a half years, I'm surprised more people don't understand how President Trump operates. His entrenched and camouflaged enemies are driven mad and can't resist exposing themselves. I love this guy.

The Brits need to be called out big-time over their denial of free speech to critics of Islam and LGBT.
