President Trump pulled no punches in condemning Britain's ambassador to the United States on Sunday, saying "we are not big fans of that man" and asserting that he has "not served the U.K. well," after a leaked diplomatic cable showed the ambassador secretly slamming the White House.
Ambassador Kim Darroch described the Trump administration as "diplomatically clumsy and inept" and said he doubted it would become "substantially more normal," according to the cable.
The memo was one of several documents published by the Mail on Sunday in which Darroch apparently made highly negative statements about the government of Britain's closest ally.
"We’ve had our little ins and outs with a couple of countries, and I would say that the U.K. -- their ambassador has not served the U.K. well, I can tell you that," Trump told reporters. "We are not big fans of that man, and he has not served the U.K. well. So, I can understand it and I can say things about him, but I won’t bother."

The sun has officially set on the British empire. Sad really. I heard the government is refusing to take action against the Ambassador as well. I think most of them that had any salt has already left.

Darroch probably comes out better if we boot him than if Britain recalls him. I’m sure the President is making his desires known and will try to make it as uncomfortable for this turd as possible
I expect Britain will have him on the next plane out. Trump’s statement in diplomatic speak is basically saying “don’t show up at the White House door again“. If the Brits do t get rid of him it’s basically thumbing their nose at the president and I don’t think they want to do that.

They have to. No matter how connected and respected he is, he can no longer serve as ambassador. Leak or not, he has discredited himself and brought shame on his office.
That's striped pants speak meaning; "He means what he says and gets things done." Diplomats rarely solve problems. They merely perpetuate and exacerbate them. The best that can be said about them is that they delay decisive action until some problems die of their own accord.
Problem is, diplomats, much like "journalists", don't understand how truly trivial they are.
