VANITY: Popular Reddit page "The_Dondald" Put Under Quarantine Ramping up to 2020
Vanity

Posted on 06/26/2019 10:23:14 AM PDT by TigerClaws

The popular page "The_Donald" was instrumental in the 2016 eleciton sharing Memes and information for the campaign.

Following up the Google/Veritas revelations that big tech is committed to defeating Donald Trump, Reddit has placed the page under a "Quarantine" which means you have to click past a security warning.

Most likely, the plan next is to delete the page for having "Hate speech" to prevent it's nearly 1 million users from creating viral campaigns there for 2020.

This was posted on the site:

Quarantine.

Dear Mods,

We want to let you know that your community has been quarantined, as outlined in Reddit’s Content Policy.

The reason for the quarantine is that over the last few months we have observed repeated rule-breaking behavior in your community and an over-reliance on Reddit admins to manage users and remove posts that violate our content policy, including content that encourages or incites violence. Most recently, we have observed this behavior in the form of encouragement of violence towards police officers and public officials in Oregon. This is not only in violation of our site-wide policies, but also your own community rules (rule #9). You can find violating content that we removed in your mod logs.

As we have discussed in the past, and as detailed in our content policy and moderator guidelines, we expect you to enforce against rule-breaking content. You’ve made progress over the last year, but we continue to observe and take action on a disproportionate amount of rule-breaking behavior in this community. We recognize that you do remove posts that are reported, but we are troubled that violent content more often goes unreported, and worse, is upvoted.

User reports and downvotes are an essential way that Reddit functions to moderate content. Limiting or prohibiting them prevents you from moderating your community effectively. Because of this, we are disabling your custom styling in order to restore these essential functions.

As stated in our Moderator Guidelines, our goal is to keep the platform alive and vibrant, as well as to ensure your community can reach people interested in it. Accordingly, here are the specific terms of the quarantine and the next steps we are asking from you as a mod team to resolve this situation.

Quarantine terms:

Visitors to this community will see a warning that requires users to explicitly opt-in to viewing it. This messaging reminds users of the importance of reporting rule-breaking content.

Custom styling has been disabled to restore the report and downvote buttons.

We hope both these changes will help improve the signal around rule-breaking content and improve your ability to effectively address it.

Next steps:

You unambiguously communicate to your subscribers that violent content is unacceptable.

You communicate to your users that reporting is a core function of Reddit and is essential to maintaining the health and viability of the community.

Following that, we will continue to monitor your community, specifically looking at report rate and for patterns of rule-violating content.

Undertake any other actions you determine to reduce the amount of rule-violating content.

Following these changes, we will consider an appeal to lift the quarantine, in line with the process outlined here.

We hope that this process provides a viable way forward to restore the health of the community. However, if this situation continues to escalate, we will explore further actions, including the possible banning of your community.

Please confirm that you have received and understand this message.

This is the message sent to us, so per their request, I'm sharing with you.

https://magaimg.net/img/8ax3.png

This is a list of what Reddit has removed in the last 30 days. If you count, not including the admins stripping me of most of my permissions, it amounts to fewer than one/day.

It would seem they've set up an impossible standard as a reason to kill us before the 2020 election.

More soon.

Apparently, this is the controversial thread:

https://www.reddit.com/r/politics/comments/c4t3gq/the_insanity_in_oregon_is_a_glimpse_of_our_very/

Libs appeared at Trump rallies dressed as Nazis, waving confederate flags. They brought crazy hateful signs to the Tea Party rallies during the Obama era. Sure they are gaslighting The_Donald to then report the page for abuse.

Dems can't win. They have terrible ideas and they have to resort to stopping debate and Free Speech along with outright voter fraud to even have a chance. Will get far worse as they see 2020 slipping away. TDS will be on full tilt after he's re-elected.

By election time Donald Trump will be the only voice left with any access to “social media” and only because taking him off might trigger an unacceptable backlash from Donald Trump.

No communication allowed for conservatives by next summer and all the Democrat cities will provide sufficient manufactured votes to offset any statewide Republican majorities. It is probably a bit late to correct the social media takeover and the Federal government cannot get a handle on the state election processes and historically no one complains when Democrat cheating is blatant. They got away with their trial runs in ‘16 and ‘18. ‘20 will have full on implementation.

The “moderators” are likely the source. It is part of the campaign to utterly silence Republican and Conservative communication before the election.

I expect most Radio and TV will silence conservatives and Republicans by next summer. Threats from and to advertisers and legal actions against them for unrelated issues are likely.
Corporations are becoming uniformly leftist because of the nature of the market. Conservatives purchase the best products at the best price without regard to the political orientation of the producer/retailer. The Left from mild liberals on out Stalinists must make a political statement with anything they buy. So that affects the political orientation of the companies and their actions vis a vis TV and radio and everything else. They become necessarily leftist.

The left knows that The Donald was the leading distributor of memes that later hit facebook and Insta, that they believe cost them the election.

It’s time for some civil disobedience. For example get a couple thousand people to fill the streets of silicon valley riding bikes really slowly around these headquarters and bringing all traffic to a crawl.

Broadcast TV and radio are regulated by the FCC, and supposedly, they can’t discriminate against any group, regardless of political affiliation or other aspects.

The internet is full of biased web-sites, including the more popular ones. There is nothing right now that prevents them from discriminating against political speech, no matter how much congress and politicians pretend to be reigning them in.

Until there are other republican/conservative web-sites that can perform the same functions as those liberal controlled web-sites, and until they get sizable audiences, then, we’re not going to get equal treatment of our content.

The Donald has been an important place for younger Trump supporters to gather. The Left couldn’t leave it alone. This is just the next step on the Left’s path to silence any effective voices on the right.

How many times have we seen this story now? Wake up! The Left wants the right dead. Gone. Extinguished. No more. For now, they’ll just silence it until they can make enough changes to the USA to start the trips to the gulag. I do not believe this is an exaggeration. The only question is how long it will take them to get to that point.

“There’s always Free Republic. No reason it can’t get the 1 million people over from Reddit”

If you don’t think that FR is on the list of places to be throttled, shadow-banned, censored, demonetized by the banks, and eventually censored from the internet completely, you have not been paying attention.

We no longer have the flash and headcounts of someplace like R/Donald, or GLP, etc. but our turn is coming, count on it.

The Digital Book burning fascists are on a roll, and they will be stopped without pushback.

The problem is advertisers. If liberals/commies won’t buy from them because they support conservative radio and TV and conservatives will buy from them regardless, they won’t support conservative radio and tv. The drive is on and will intensify. Some big banks have already tried cutting off gun groups.

In the world of “private” social media companies, to evade charges of government suppression of free speech, all the government has to do is outsource the suppression to “private contractors”.

I keep telling people this, but some people don't grasp this idea of collusion between government and industry more commonly known as "fascism."

Ping to Semimojo.

If we allow private censorship of public mass communications, it creates the conditions for behind the scenes government censorship, in the manner China already has Google and other such companies obeying them.

“Someone at T_D just mentioned Reddit is backed by Chinese $ - not sure if this is true, but the stupid Reddit “quarantine” of The_Donald would then make sense.”

150Mil is pocket change, especially if it hurts Trump Support for the 2020 election, in China’s view.

Reddit, Banned in China, Is Reportedly Set to Land $150 Million Investment From a Chinese Censorship Powerhouse

https://gizmodo.com/reddit-banned-in-china-is-reportedly-set-to-land-150-1832375439

“Reddit is about to get a huge new round of investment of up to $300 million, reports TechCrunch. The first $150 million is reportedly expected to come from the Chinese tech giant Tencent, the first ever Asian technology company to pass a $500 billion market value.

The apparently impending Reddit-Tencent marriage is complicated by the fact that Reddit, one of the most popular websites on the internet, is regularly—and is currently—blocked in China as part of the world’s most notorious and sophisticated censorship regime, the Great Firewall of China.”

Of course. That is the easy peasy way to do it. Sleeper agents post bad content and then encourage others to do it. And Visa versa we cannot do the same because all the content on the left forums are horrific to begin with. We could lodge complaints in leftists posts, but who the heck wants to read that tripe.

You have it exactly backwards.

You're advocating to have the government determine what messages private platforms must carry.

How does a fascist government get its message out? Through co-opted mass communications systems - your dream.

I'm advocating to have the government determine that they must carry *ALL* message traffic or be prohibited from running public communications.

I no longer have any tolerance for letting corporations decide what message traffic they will consent to carry.

They have chosen to take on the responsibility of public communications, and by God they need to be MADE to comply with what is in the best public interest!

I know this may come as a shock but corporations have 1st Amendment rights.

Government forced speech is exactly the same as government suppressed speech.

... by God they need to be MADE to comply with what is in the best public interest!

Good, because I've determined that a strong 1st Amendment and public property rights are in the public interest.

I know this may come as a shock but corporations have 1st Amendment rights.

Sure. If they want to say something, that's fine. They can post a video or something. But when they are running the public communications platform, they cannot deprive other Americans of their first amendment rights just because they successfully lured the public in under false pretenses.

Government forced speech is exactly the same as government suppressed speech.

The government isn't forcing anyone to say anything, but the government very much ought to be forcing communications companies to carry all traffic, and not discriminate because they don't like the politics of the people using that infrastructure.

Remember, AT&T cannot control people's communications, and Google/Youtube is nothing but a giant video partyline system.

The government would have never tolerated this kind of behavior from AT&T.

Good, because I've determined that a strong 1st Amendment and public property rights are in the public interest.

But freedom of speech is of a greater interest than property rights dealing with public communications.

Without securing freedom of communications, we won't long have any property rights, or do you think Comrade Bernie or Comrade Warren are just blowing smoke?

Time to either make them behave, or Eminent Domain their @$$es!

Well then, the problem seems to be on OUR SIDE.

We can take out money elsewhere, just as well as democrats can take their money elsewhere. Our money is just as good and just as big. Losing 1/2 of their advertising dollars is not something that any internet business can take, especially if they have shareholders to answer to.
