In the world of “private” social media companies, to evade charges of government suppression of free speech, all the government has to do is outsource the suppression to “private contractors”.

I keep telling people this, but some people don't grasp this idea of collusion between government and industry more commonly known as "fascism."

Ping to Semimojo.

If we allow private censorship of public mass communications, it creates the conditions for behind the scenes government censorship, in the manner China already has Google and other such companies obeying them.

You have it exactly backwards.

You're advocating to have the government determine what messages private platforms must carry.

How does a fascist government get its message out? Through co-opted mass communications systems - your dream.
