The current campaign to amend federal and state civil rights laws to extend protections to sexual orientation and gender identity isn't meant to eliminate discrimination — it's meant to eliminate religious freedom.
What else are we to believe when proponents of such amendments tell us as much?
Earlier this month, Michigan State Senator Jeremy Moss introduced legislation to amend the state's civil rights law to add sexual orientation and sexual identity as protected classes. One of the main objections to changing the law before now has been the harm it must do to conscience protections and free exercise of religion. Like their federal cousin, the Equality Act, these laws can't ensure equality because, as gay writer Brad Polumbo explains, they work by "elevating [LGBT] rights over those of religious Americans."
Senator Moss isn't even pretending this isn't the case. As reported in the Oakland Press, Moss said:
[T]he legislation will not make exceptions for those whose religious beliefs condemn homosexuality and other lifestyles[.] ... That would mean, for example, that a Catholic school that teaches against homosexuality could not discriminate against a homosexual job applicant on the basis of sexual orientation.
Bakery owners and photographers could not refuse to serve a same-sex couple's wedding on the basis of religious beliefs.
None of this bothers Moss, who "says he is gay as well as a practicing Jew," and doesn't see what the problem is. He "knows plenty of rabbis and other religious leaders who support the legislation." Besides, believers who don't see it his way just don't understand the Bible, or their own faith: "A few passages in the Old Testament (teaching against homosexuality) don't give people the right to discriminate. I don't believe there is a conflict between religious values and treating everyone fairly."

The concept of protected class is invalid. First of all, there is no legal definition of Black, Hispanic, etc. Second, there is no way to prove definitively that someone belongs to a group for which there is no legal definition.)
Third, anyone can declare him/her/itself to be trans, and immediately get the privileges that are given to trans.
NO special privileges for anybody!
They are suing under state anti-discrimination laws. They still are not a protected class at the federal level.
Rand Paul was right when he pointed out the flaws of the Civil Rights Act, but he was stepping on a 3rd rail. Everyone saw what happened to him so no other politician is likely to go there again.
You can be gay this week straight the next bisexual the next week
there is no generic presupposition to it so how do you even categorize it?
OG I say I am this way or that way and therefore youre going to believe me
Protected class=bully. Particularly if homo. If judges can’t be removed from office, how can we be expected to abide by their whims?
This posting by FRs says it best and when printed up makes a good bumper sticker or poster;

it reads CELEBRATE PERVERSITY each word is against a rainbow background. I suggest adding VOTE PERVOCRAT when you print it up and place that below the two words.celebrate, perversity.
Which is pretty much why they want to do it.
>> Christian churches are not allowed to have core beliefs any longer.
Well that depends on Whos the boss. And it aint the govt nor the Left thats pushing the radical agenda forward.
I suppose the real issue is the willingness to fight back to the necessary degree.
Protected from what? There are assault laws that deal with morons who beat them up for being queer, the same as they deal with those who’d beat me up for being conservative. Sounds pretty much like equality to me.
They can kill religious liberty, but they simply drive the resolve to God, even deeper.
It seems the sifting and purifying of true believers has begun.

Yehova is not mocked!
He who laughs last...
What if they force you to allow gays to take part in your church? That would be awkward.
Which I already have according to their whining!
.
“The free exercise thereof.”
Nah, I don’t blame the oppressed for being oppressed.
The government is fast becoming the agent of oppression.
extend protections to sexual orientation and gender identity isn’t meant to eliminate discrimination it’s meant to eliminate religious freedom.
A right enjoyed by citizen A confers no obligation on the part of citizen B, just as the pursuit of happiness obliges no one else to lift a finger.
Live and let live was just a bait and switch.
If they’re protected under state laws then it doesn’t matter. They deliberately go after Christian businesses.
For leftist activists, that’s the entire point.
If it were just about equal rights, they’d be fine with the current situation. Gay people now have the right to marry, adopt, etc. and many of them happily do so. But if you’re a leftist who wants to destroy the current order, you don’t want equal rights. You want your enemy to be crushed by the state.
