Sunday on NBCs Meet the Press, President Donald Trump said given another chance he would not appoint former Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) as attorney general.
Host Chuck Todd asked, If you could have one do-over as president, what would it be?
Trump replied, It would be personnel.
He continued, I would say if I had one do-over, it would be, I would not have appointed Jeff Sessions to be attorney general. That would be my one.
Sessions recusal in the 2016 Russian interference probe led to the appointment of special counsel Robert Mueller.

Judges are not supposed to vote along paety lines.
I don't see how...he has to have 60 votes in the senate and he will get nothing through the house. Paul Ryan was as bad as Pelosi. The man has done an exceptional job...so has Craig Abbot!!!
“I would wager Mueller was on a Trump advisor short list for AG.”
He was not on any Trump list. You must never have heard of their nasty business dealings.
Not sure about that. I knew for a FACT that putting Reince Priebus and Omarosa in White House was a HUUUUGE mistake. I had a feeling Sessions was a mistake too. I do not trust ANYONE in the Senate - let alone someone who has been there 20 years. They are ALL corrupt or have some sort of baggage that opens them up to blackmail. His daughter and son-in-law are giving him some TERRIBLE advice...and by no means are conservatives and should not be within a mile of the WH except to have dinner and watch a ball game.
These things are easy. There are also PLENTY of people in positions of power that Obama put there that could have easily been canned...and we KNOW they shold be "clubbed." They are still working and killing the agenda. Almost everyone that leaves the administration talks smack.
Look - I like the guy and will vote for him again - but if people don't admit he is part of his own problems then that is a problem in and of itself. It's no different than democrats who would never admit Obama could do no wrong.
Amen to that. I follow NO organized "religion". I follow the truth.
FMCDH(BITS)
Correct.
100% of Senators voted to deny this duly-elected President recess appointments. 100%: Cruz. Lee. Paul. Sessions - if he still had been there - would have done China Mac’s bidding. One No vote would have enabled the President of their own ostensible party to further his agenda. Just. One. No. Vote.
Sessions is an S.E.S. Institutionalist, not a Constitutionalist. He put on an act while 1 of 100 Senators, but the Deep State commanded his allegiance when he was 1 of 1 AGs. Cruz, Lee, and Paul all put on acts still.
He opposed the ruling of Gloria Navarro, who threw out the case against Cliven Bundy et al for egregious prosecutorial misconduct - and he publicly supported the gangsters who persecuted Bundy and company.
To statist Jeffy, laws are for little people - illegal aliens, pot smokers, Cliven Bundy - not for his pals in The Club.
(I do not doubt they used bribery/blackmail/bullying against him, too. The Deep State likes its “insurance policies.”)
We have the media telling us 24 hours a day and 7 days a week that he has done wrong. We dont need anymore of that. Lol
No it’s because he is as conservative as Roberts.
You're right. It's probably not fair to allow the depravity of 98% of them to tarnish the rest.
The vicious attack from the left didnt keep him from being a SC justice, but it certainly has kept him in his place.

That’s exactly the way it looks to me too. He has that tail between his legs like a whipped dog.
Note that I said advisor short list. In any event, Trump let him into the WH with Rosenstein to discuss the FBI director job. In all likelihood, this was an attempt to entrap Trump with obstruction of justice.
Obviously, but they are supposed to vote based upon Constitutional principles. NOT on the hope for a positive editorial from the Washington Post.
Agree. Wray was a terrible pick.
Dear Justice Thomas just raked Gorsuch over the coals in a minority report. Thomas was remarkable because he hammered down on truth, history and precedent like a real Constitutionalist and boss. Fabulous.
(Sorry, I can’t recall where I read it.. maybe a column linked to the Conservative Review.)
looks like q threads have lost their steam
