President Trump approved an offensive cyberstrike that disabled Iranian computer systems used to control rocket and missile launches, even as he backed away from a conventional military attack in response to its downing Thursday of an unmanned U.S. surveillance drone, according to people familiar with the matter.
The cyberstrikes, launched Thursday night by personnel with U.S. Cyber Command, were in the works for weeks if not months, according to two of these people, who said the Pentagon proposed launching them after Irans alleged attacks on two oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman earlier this month.

Who made this public???
If the scumbags at the WP know about this there is still is a very bad leak problem. This plus the details of the ICE raids. Enough! fix this.
Weather we are or are not doing these things, this should not be published in the news.
Just making the Iranians hyperventilate
It is the Washington Post so I have serious doubts as to the credibility of the story.
Who made this public???
Good question.
Releasing the raid info just let the cockroaches scatter. President Trump knew the moment that info came out no one would be arrested and deported
why are we reading this shit? please, please, PDJT, no need to discuss this in your Twitter feed.
I DON’T need to know about this...
I HOPE it’s true... but,
I DON’T need to know about this.
That will cost way more than a drone.
Sounds like BS. If/when we were to exercise this kind of capability, we wouldnt be talking about it.
The WP has direct ties to the CIA.
Perhaps the surveillance ops on the POTUS are still active.
WaPo and Daily Caller evidently got the story from Yahoo.
Washington AmazonBezosPost we don’t believe you.
PDJT was already I’m sure hacking these systems BEFORE this, morons!!!!!!
I just posted in the thread above about why are we discussing this, if true?
Isn’t this a secret? Unless Trump wanted it published, this is possible treason.
Iran says it will respond ‘firmly’ to US aggression amid retaliatory cyberattack, aborted military strike
The President has said nothing about this on his twitter feed. Where did you get that?
This is a really crappy idea. The point of cyberstrikes is to disable enemy weapon systems while we’re bombing the crap out of them, so they can’t attack the pilots conducting strike missions or launch missiles at our regional bases. To do it out of the clear blue is a complete waste of a carefully hoarded, single use capability.
