Former Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore is set to announce his plans for the 2020 Alabama senate race on Thursday at 2 p.m. at The Ballroom in Montgomery.
Moore lost the U.S. Senate race in 2017 amid allegations of sexual misconduct with teenagers. Moore denied the allegations. President Donald Trump last month tweeted that Moore cannot win and said Republicans need to retake the seat in the once reliable red state. Democratic Sen. Doug Jones currently holds the position.
The event is open to invited guests and credentialed press.
Roy, just go home.
Good grief.
Nick Saban?
Big mistake for Alabama.
Oh Noes.
Well, it won't be, even if Roy Moore announces, I refuse to believe the Alabama GOP primary electorate will be stupid enough to re-nominate him. He might get a plurality in a very crowded field, but thankfully it's a run-off state, and Moore won't be winning any run-off where he needs over 50% of the vote.
No alternatives are necessary. Moore should receive our enthusiastic support.. He’s pro-life, pro-God, anti-sodomy and he’s already survived a leftist supported smear campaign. (supported by some here, I might add)
What is it that you feel disqualifies the Judge?
Don’t worry.
Sessions is now considering running for his old seat again
Will Alabama forgive him for the damage he did to the President they elected by 28%?
I’m sure McConnell and McCarthy will put up a solid, country club conservative for the Georgia folks to gag on.
Mo Brooks, Luther Strange, or even Sessions.
But HELL to the NO on Moore. We need this Senate seat.
Sessions?
That he’s a poor campaigner.
ROY MAY BE A GOOD CONSERVATIVE, BUT HE DOES NOT HAVE THE SKILLS NECESSARY TO WIN AN ELECTION..
I’d be interested in hearing the President’s opinion on Sessions running.
Because he's a terrible candidate who did an abysmal job defending himself. He can go be a man of God in another capacity. America needs that Senate seat back.
hes already survived a leftist supported smear campaign
No, he didn't "survive" it... he produced one of the most improbable outcomes in the modern age -- losing a reliable Senate seat in a reliably conservative state.
Exactly. He can go be a church pastor or something.
Survived? You are aware he lost last time, aren't you?
What is it that you feel disqualifies the Judge?
Idiot loser.
He did quite well last time, considering the millions of dollars spent against him by the Republicans.
Trump told him no. We need that seat back.
