1. YOU HAVE THE POWER!
Every once in a while I like to remind everyone of the power they hold to destroy the national news media and Hollywood. Simply put, there is a one-legged stool propping up both of these malevolent institutions, and it is called bundled cable and satellite television. And nothing is more damaging to either than you making the choice to cancel your television bundle.
You see, ratings don't really matter much anymore.
The television game has been so expertly rigged that eyeballs have almost nothing to do with revenue.
CNN is an excellent example. Did you know that, on average, CNN is not only in last place behind MSNBC, but that the left-wing outlet's average viewers are below 1 million? With such poor ratings, there is no way CNN could survive on advertising revenue alone.
So how does CNN stay afloat?
By picking YOUR pocket.
Yes, Genius, YOU are subsidizing a Fake News outlet that is actively trying to destroy you and everything you stand for.
How?
Whether or not you watch CNN (and no one really does), if it is part of your cable package, you are putting money directly into CNN's pocket with what is called a subscription fee. Somewhere around 50% of CNN's total revenue comes from suckers like YOU, dupes who continue to pay for obscenely overpriced subscription television packages that enrich our world's CNNs.

Save money. Decrease the white noise in your life. Bring down the corrupt Man.
And all it takes is one phone call.
Cut the cord
For yourself and for America.

Another reason not to be a contributor to these lying leftist screw worms..
The problem with that is internet is tied to cable. If you get just internet, they hack up the price of internet. Then if you start streaming everything it costs more.

One Word > ROKU
Yeah, we use Roku boxes and Amazon Fire to watch anything we want, pretty much. As far as any cable TV channels, well, as long as you have a broadband carrier providing your service, you can log into the channel’s portal with your broadband account and watch anything you prefer. That’s how I watched the final season of The Last Ship and check out The Walking Dead. There are a thousand other channels from all over the globe and to suit whatever your taste is to see out there, and it’s more entertaining and informative than the dreck your ISP serves up on their menu. Plus, once you buy the media appliance, 75% of it is free. The rest is PPV or only charges a small monthly access fee. We have six different TV’s, and one is on the bar in the kitchen. It’s great if you see something you want to cook for dinner on a channel, and you can pause and replay while you follow the recipe.
I’ve got my phone, cigar and Free Republic. I’m good.
Kodi can run on just about anything. Windows, Linux, Android, OSX.
There are unsupported addons that allow you to stream cable TV or watch just about any TV show you want.
I am watching Fox News on CCloudTV right now:

Earlier I watched the latest episode of Elementary on Srubs 2:

All for free.
You can get an Android TV box for $22 on eBay.
This is the one I have:
So, by cutting my cable TV service, how do I get such things as the Cooking Channel, Discovery Channel, Create, C-Span and the Smithsonian Channel?
for 4 months per year I get sling so I can watch college football games. Once the season is over I drop that. I can download all I want for free from the internet. As an added bonus, I don’t have to watch any commercials.
I wonder if your cable internet connection also kicks in to the CNN takings?
As of this post, not one mention of ATT
CNN is ATT hello???
Cable-free since 2005.
Well, at home, my neighbor lets me use her Wifi. So, I pay nothing.
In return, I take her to some doctor appointments(when her son can’t).
I also do a lot of house sitting. My clients just give me their Wifi passwords. Some have cable, some don’t.
If they don’t, I just use my chrome notebook to watch what I want.
I cut the cable 2.5 years ago over the nfl kneeling stuff. Glad my money no longer subsidizes them all. Don’t miss it.
A good antenna supplemented by a streaming box is all you need - no need for monthly fees.
Indeed - plenty available on the free side on both of those. Plus, there are more channels now on over the air antenna TV than used to be on cable.
You would have to look for equivalents to replace them...of which there are plenty. A good antenna supplemented by a streaming box like Roku would do the trick.
OMG...thanks.
I cancel tomorrow!!!
Yeah, I’ve noticed more and more OTA antennas for sale recently. I thought they were doing away with the analog frequencies to make room for digital services, but I think they ended up limiting it to any broadcasts in certain areas over a maximum wattage output. Anybody can feel free to correct me if my facts are wrong.
