$1 billion of cocaine seized in largest American drug bust

PHILADELPHIA — U.S. authorities seized more than $1 billion worth of cocaine Tuesday from a ship at a Philadelphia port, calling it one of the largest drug busts in American history.

The U.S. attorney’s office in Philadelphia announced the massive bust on Twitter on Tuesday afternoon, saying law enforcement agents seized about 33,000 pounds of cocaine from a large ship at the Packer Marine Terminal. Members of the crew were arrested and face federal charges.

There was another large drug bust in NY/NJ, about $500 million IIRC.

That's $1.5 billion off the streets just in that 100 mile stretch.

Since I DIDNT do it and it was 15 years go, I can tell this story.

I was on roxys for pain. 5 dollar co pay. I was offered 1500 dollars for my bottle.

I passed.

It didn’t work for me so I stopped taking it.

Great bust. Great work! The feds should be legally equipped to take ships that are used to bring drugs here. The proceeds could be used for materiel for a real war on drugs (better than a silly metaphor).
