Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is meeting tomorrow with a pair of senior military commanders as tensions with Iran show no sign of abating.
Pompeo is heading to MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Fla., State Department spokeswoman Morgan Ortagus told reporters Monday. "There, he will meet with Gen. Kenneth McKenzie, commander of Central Command, and Gen. Richard Clarke, commander of Special Operations Command, to discuss regional security concerns and ongoing operations," she said.
McKenzie is the Marine Corps general responsible for U.S. military operations in the Middle East, and Clarke is the Army general in charge of U.S. special forces.

In before....
And I thought I had balls.
I was reading a strategic paper on what they are calling hybrid warfare. Iran’s intent, according to the paper, is to maintain plausible deniability and to blame others for their actions. They will also use allies and proxies. However, with each attack the deniability becomes less. Also, other powers can engage in the same low level conflict with targets of increasing strategic value. Iran, according to the paper, sees its own vulnerability and wishes to avoid losing assets while creating a cumulative effect of putting pressure on the Gulf region and the US to give up the sanctions. This would allow Iran to continue its anti-western and anti-Israeli terror operations as well as its nuclear program. Iran is juggling is internal problems against the idea that they can force the outside world to let them have their way before the internal problems collapse the regime. It’s a desperate gamble. Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states have probably identified hybrid attack vectors inside Iran that would potentially topple the regime. Right now, the other powers are probably hoping the US will swoop in and save their bacon so they don’t risk themselves and their assets. Frankly, I hope Trump tells them he’ll give them intelligence support but they have to do the heavy lifting.
Punch Iran In the Mouth.
Hit and destroy their nuclear.
Well you just know what Generals are going to recommend. Military actions
Now.
I don’t know where they are stationed but you probably should watch for activity where B-1s and B-2s are based.
MAGA likely ends if & when we attack Iran.
Didn’t vote for NeoCons.
There can be so many outcomes from this Iran crap.
Let’s go, kick their ass. DJT Be ready to bow out of 2020.
“Hit and destroy their nuclear.”
This is the most protected asset in the country and we would likely lose a number of aircraft and personnel. I would prefer to bankrupt the country, overthrow the regime and then negotiate a complete shutdown and destruction. Whoever ends up in power is going to want food, fuel and stability as well as economic assistance more than nuclear weapons. I think we can pull that off with little or no boots on ground.
He promised to withdraw from Syria & Afghanistan. Not happening.
We are building new, illegal military bases in Syria.
All responsibility lies on DJT.
I’m about 50 miles from the B-2’s. I don’t see them take off but if I go slightly south sometimes I can see them outbound (some times).
I certainly won’t say anything if I DO see them.
Well maybe 36-48 hours later....
Its what the neocons want. PT entangled in a mid east war. His numbers will tank. A democrat presidency and congress in 2020. Just perfect for the rhinos who love being the opposition party
MOAB
Generals usually want to avoid war.
War messes up armies.
Thanks.
Hurlburt Field is another place where a lot of interesting things take place.
I am sure Trump, Pompeo and others are doing what is reasonable and possible.
They have more info than we do and more aware of the real situation and we need to trust them.
