President Trump said he's been briefed by Navy pilots regarding sightings of unidentified flying objects, but remained skeptical of the existence of UFOs.
George Stephanopoulos of ABC News raised the issue during an interview with Trump released Saturday.
"I was struck in the last few couple of weeks, we're reading more and more reports of Navy pilots seeing lots and lots of UFOs," Stephanopoulos said to a smiling Trump. "Have you been briefed on that? What do you make of it?"
"I want them to think whatever they think," Trump replied, referring to the Navy pilots. "I did have one very brief meeting on it. But people are saying theyre seeing UFOs. Do I believe it? Not particularly."

His answer was "not particularly." That is most certainly not a firm "NO"...
That is a wiggle word used for a precise reason.
The President may speak "Queens" English (as in the NYC Borough of Queens), but he does so very effectively and precisely. He almost always says what he means and means what he says...if you interpret his Queens vernacular into 'Merican English.
In this case, he bobbed to avoid the punch thrown by little Steffie. When ask if he was ready to make UFO disclosure to the American public, he said, "not particularly" and then followed it by telling little Georgie that he "would be the first to know."
One might interpret that as saying, "well, Georgie, I'm not ready to disclose whatever I know to YOU."
As an aside, you will notice that the President smiled when asked about the subject of UFO's. That smile is known in the trade (the trade being those who study lying like FBI analysts, the police, and psychologists) as an expression of "duping delight."
It tells us that the President was "duping" little Georgie about this subject of UFO's. From the point of view of those who study lying, it might be concluded that the President's comment to Steffie, mixed as it was with a smile of "duping delight," conveyed that the truth is counter/contra to what he was saying. The truth being that he was briefed on the subject and understands perfectly well the significance of all this UFO stuff (whether the sightings were enemy craft or otherwise).
Stephanie IS INDEED a little wise guy.
The best thing about getting my clearance was the UFO ride after signing all the paperwork.
Trump knew exactly what he was getting into. He is just toying with them.
+.
“Hes made some great points with this Snuffelupegas interview, and on ‘normal’ television, that a lot of Americans still watch.”
I have to agree with that. Like in the Bible, Paul went to where the sinners were. How else would they hear the truth?
Seems like sightings of little green men getting off flying saucers have decreased dramatically now that mobile video cameras are ubiquitous.
Breaking news: “Trump Calls Navy Pilots Liars”
Heheh. Eggzactly.
A few blurry pictures and pictures, also blurry and long telephoto pictures, of ares 51. The usual.
If that were all it was, this subject wouldn't have made it into a Presidential briefing and emerged as a winner in the extreme competition of those handful of questions to be posed to the President on national TV.
That is one explanation I find steeped in ignorance and superstition. It is such a narrow view of the Creation to be just plain childish.
HAVING SAID THAT, the most PLAUSIBLE argument I've read is something like the following:
-light-speed travel (as we envision it) is fraught with peril...the devastation if you hit a tiny piece of rock grows as your speed accelerates. Thus a pebble kicking up and hitting your windshield at 55mph may cause a crack; at light-speed your space craft is destroyed. So, compound that probability of a piece of space debris being in your path across scores of light years.
-demons are fallen angels. They really don't like us. In fact they hate us, but they are sneaky and understand us better than we know oure lives. They know our Achilles heel.
-(fallen) angels are spirits and not subject to material limitations so the aforementioned light-speed problems don't apply to them.
So, logically then...if there are simply too many UFO sightings and pictures etc to blow it off as Swamp gas, AND if it's physically unlikely for aliens to survive travel across the vast distances of space, AND if fallen angels hate us and want to destroy us, AND if they know our fascination with aliens, AND they can travel from here to there without limitation...
If hed have said ANYTHING besides no, they were going to say he was totally nuts.
Exactly. The left has been pushing the "Trump is mentally unstable" narrative a lot recently. This question was posed to him in the hope that it would feed into that narrative ("Trump sees little green men!") These journalists are the same people who thought it was "charming" when Hillary Clinton claimed she sat in the White House and had conversations with the ghost of Eleanor Roosevelt.
Oh yeah, well... sure, I’ll go! Bring on the probing!
“If that were all it was, this subject wouldn’t have made it into a Presidential briefing”
That is all it was. People love to hear claims of sightings of aliens.
I respect the pilots that say they saw something but please, pilots, take decent pictures of what you saw. Radar watchers, show us you radar images.
Aircraft in our atmosphere can’t zoom away at terrific speeds without generating a sonic boom.
There is evidence that some UFOs are solid: Train Hits UFO
Rest assured that if a train hit any sort of aircraft that pieces of that aircraft would have been at the scene.
BTW, the Navy and the Defense Department don't love to hear of sightings of UFO's and/or aliens.

“You haven’t been following this story as reported by the Navy and former Naval pilots, have you?”
I just want to see a clear picture of one of these flying objects. I’ll stick with what I put in the earlier post.
