President O’Rourke Will Take Executive Action to End New Oil and Gas Leases on Federal Lands

Inskeep said:

When you talk to scientists about what would be necessary to get to zero carbon emissions, they often talk about people having to change their daily behaviors — drive an electric car; that’s not such a bad change. Live in a smaller house. People might feel uncomfortable with that. Have fewer children. Eat less meat. Are you not going to demand any kind of sacrifice from anyone in order to get to zero carbon emissions?

“Yeah, we’re going to have to make an investment as a country,” O’Rourke said. “It is not going to necessarily be easy.”

“Here is the opportunity to meet a true existential threat of this moment, and I’m confident that it’s going to bring out the absolute best in us,” O’Rourke said. “It’s nothing to be afraid of — something to meet head on and to overcome and to do it together.”

industry in his state, which provides the state with incredible prosperity, according to the state’s 2019 State of Energy Report that shows 2018 oil production in Texas totaled a record 1.54 billion barrels (bbl) in 2018, surpassing a previous record of 1.28 billion bbl set in 1973, Forbes magazine reported.

O’Rourke said oil will be replaced by wind power.

“My state’s big industry is going to have to transition into its other big industry,” O’Rourke said. “We generate more wind power than any other state in the union.”

As we free ourselves from that dependence on fossil fuels, we’re going to see more of my fellow Texans and fellow Americans transition into renewable energy jobs —high demand, high skill occupations – and I think it’s really important that we invest in the training to make sure that we have the skilled workforce that’s ready to take on this global challenge

Lock up all wealth - for what purpose? Future generations can enjoy them?

Chances are, that when that “future” ever arrives, the people then alive will be also forbidden the use of these resources.

Go ahead, eat the seed corn. Kill off the least suggestion that there is good to be had in enjoying the fruits of labor as we go along.

REAL labor consists of extracting the wealth from the earth and distributing it by equitable means. The “equitable means” (which does NOT mean the same thing as “equality”) is determined by the assigned monetary value of each component of wealth, labor, capital, and resources.

You only sell one thing in this world, that is your time. You only buy one thing, that is personal satisfaction.

“My state’s big industry is going to have to transition into its other big industry,” O’Rourke said. “We generate more wind power than any other state in the union.”

...and this kind of rhetoric is exactly why Trump won over coal country.

“We generate more wind power than any other state in the union.”

With all the windbags from California in Congress, not hard to believe.

Since they seem to have such a hard on about reducing “carbon output”, living in smaller homes, driving electric cars, obviously the first order of business should be the deportation of the MILLIONS of Illegal Aliens, this should buy us some time, decades in fact. Lock up the border too. Moratorium on any “immigration.”

“Austin Texas. Force the liberal city achieve zero carbon emissions starting July 1st.”

add in:
Silicon Valley
Cambridge, Massachusetts
Washington, DC

Let’s put a bill in the hopper and get a move on.

Motor fuel (except natural gas for public transit buses) illegal effective July 1 in such places.

What my dog left on my neighbor’s lawn will be President before this beto-oaf. The only executive action this nitwit will be taking is to flush his toilet.
