Would Nevada pay for the damages inflicted by these workers?

CBD oil can be made with 0 THC, or 8:1, 4:1, 3:1, 2:1. Along with a small amount of thc, which will NOT get you high (but might make you a bit sleepy) the chronic pain relief intensifies. It’s an herb so it needs to build steadily up in your receptors to get a long lasting effect. It’s not a quick fix; it could take several weeks to improve your pain. While children need to take the 0% THC unless they are terminal, adults can get better results from the oils which still contain a fraction of thc.

this isnt going to hold water.

all Fedgov contractors have to have drug testing and since marijuana use is a federal crime, any contractor who has employees who test for positive for marijuana use will lose fedgov contracts.

Seen this up close.

how Does this square up with Worker’s Compensation being allowed to disqualify or reduce benefits under worker’s compensation?

I can remember back a number of years seeing Home Depot signs in their windows:

Now Hiring-—

IF YOU USE DRUGS, DON”T BOTHER WE TEST

I don’t know how many Home Depot stores there are in Nevada, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see them close up.

This new law is beyond stupid.

Workmen’s Comp won’t pay for injuries to a drug user. Neither will your company liability.

Why should ANY employer /company wish to take their business to Nevada only to be hammered by this insane law.

I wonder how all the new businesses like Tesla & Panasonic & Switch are feeling about this???

"I wonder how all the new businesses like Tesla...."

I'm sure Elon Musk approves. He is probably one of its main supporters.

Say what you want but Zero Tolerance is stupid, especially in states where it’s legal.”””

Let me know when you own your own company & are hiring others.
Let me know how much LIABILITY insurance coverage you can get.

Let me know if you can even obtain Workmen’s Comp insurance.

When YOUR capital is on the line-—how hard would you work to have employees that could end it all for you in a matter of minutes???

Driving YOUR company van down the wrong way on the freeway/road? Running red lights? You name it.

I have done bookkeeping for a number of small businesses since 1980. I cannot think of a single owner that would NOT have any LIABILITY consequences if they had a pothead working for them. Running machinery? On a roof? Doing any kind of construction? Delivering flowers for the florist? Picking up parts for the engine builder? Even the lady who ran a cookie/snack/lunch business couldn’t have an impaired person round the hot ovens.

Nevada has severely overstepped. It is becoming a highly litigious state because of this Legislature’s actions. Lawsuits are already in the works, and Sissy Pants hasn’t finished signing bills yet.

Cigarette smokers are a health risk. Smoking is nasty, filthy and disgusting.

So is smoking marijuana. The difference is cigarette smoking doesn't get you high and impair your judgement. Smoking marijuana does.

It won't matter, just find another reason to not hire marijuana smokers. It's really simple: not hiring someone because you don't like the color of their hair, their being bald, or some other reason not covered by discrimination laws is easy and an employer cannot be legitimately sued for not hiring someone for a non-discriminatory reason.

"Not a cultural fit" for the company is the line my employer uses. Works every time.

The hiring ov over 50,000 new employees in N Nevada over the past 2 years—and still happening—has caused a hotbed of housing shortage. Ranches are being subdivided at an alarming rate, and homes are being built. Water for all of these new arrivals is questionable.

The MEDIAN price of a home sold in May in Reno was $420,000-—over $100,000 higher than 3 years go. Also a larger than 5% increase from month before. A “tiny house’ of 600-900 Sq Ft is selling on a ‘tiny lot’ for $250,000 & up & the contractor says she cannot build them fast enough.

The Progressive/Left stoner-losers haven't thought that far ahead.

Here's another interesting scenario for you: product liability insurance.

Say you have a company that manufactures a safety critical device for medical or aerospace applications, and your employees are verifiable stoner-losers.

People start dropping dead and/or commercial aircraft start dropping out of the sky. The fault is traced to a glaring design error, and/or quality control.

If I was a class action attorney, that would sound like a really juicy target....

Kind of like when I interviewed somebody with piercings on their face, I was cordial, but after the interview was over, we said, “Next!”

My son’s company designs and builds net zero homes. Their company started in Mountain View, CA, but recently they relocated to Reno. The demand is there and there is a shortage of people able to build a quality home. Everyone who can do that has more work than they can handle.

Eating marijuana ...cooked or refined via oil.....doesn’t show up in a urine analysis but a week or two as opposed to smoking pot which stays months for daily smokers

I know a number of Californians that are “getting-out” due to the terrible state taxes. Nevada is seen as a nearby destination. Do you see this as the main cause of the growth?

I can’t see midwesterners paying that for a Reno destination.
