In HS my buddy and I played Rummy, Navy it was Cribbage, when I worked the oilfield it was Boureit (spelling?), work in Ohio was Sheepshead.

I’ve played spades and hearts on the computer but didn’t care for them as much. Sheepshead was hell’a fun with a big group.

Never played bridge though.

I think bridge is one case where it is easier to learn by just jumping in and trying to play rather than reading a book. The books are more for players that already know the basics and want to learn advanced strategies. It’s like the chess of card games.
