The FBI is now investigating six mysterious deaths of seemingly healthy Americans who died suddenly at one of two resorts in the Dominican Republic within the past year. ~snip~
US State Department officials have issued a travel advisory for American tourists heading to the DR, telling vacationers to exercise 'increased caution'.
'Violent crime, including armed robbery, homicide and sexual assault is a concern throughout the Dominican Republic,' the advisory stated on April 15. 'The wide availability of weapons, the use and trade of illicit drugs, and a weak criminal justice system contribute to the high level of criminality on the broader scale.'

A Dangerous Hell-hole country is luring Americans with a few posh resorts. Tourists are likely forewarned not to leave the resort property if they care to live very long.
Did they send the same agents that investigated Benghazi and Las Vegas?
Low price is the lure. Death is the hook.
I believe it’s homemade moonshine.
The Bahamas is much safer and has beautiful resorts.
Don’t we have palm trees and alcohol in Florida?
The night after Ortiz was shot, Boston radio talk-host Dan Rhea did a segment on “Does what happened to David Ortiz make you less likely to vacation in the Dominican Republic?”
I didn’t spend a long time listening, but the first caller I heard was a nurse who had gone as part of a relief mission to Haiti. They set up in DR just across the border from Haiti, and children were brought to them for treatment. Her description of the DR was enough to make your skin crawl. She asserted she would never consider the DR for a vacation. The next caller was a former Marine Embassy guard. Even more negative.
You would have to be out of your mind to vacation there.
So far, all of these deaths have happened at just two hotels, both owned by a Spanish family-run hotel group. Theres some suspicion that its industrial sabotage by someone with a grudge against the company.
At the moment, I read that investigators seem to be leaning towards the theory that an insecticide was used to poison the drinks. Two other guests were sickened by some chemical in the room (in the AC?) and it was found that they had organophosphate poisoning.
I wonder how long this has been going on? The Dominican authorities have not been very helpful on this.
One of the things I do is run a travel clinic, and you would be surprised at how common the "Oh, the water is safe because the faucets at the resort are solid gold" delusion is.
Time to block the four bridges in and out of Staten Island!!
Armed guards at each bridge.
Shoot to kill if anyone enters!!
We’ll get our food supply from the Fresh Kills fishing area.
And then we’ll all be dead in a week :)
Fox News has that Griff Jenkins (sic?) down there on the story. He asked the Presidente about the deaths. No response. he then asked a wealthy tourism investor, and he said the people ate too much and rank too much. Blamed the victims.

FBI is a criminal enterprise.
“Tourists are likely forewarned not to leave the resort property if they care to live very long. “
My sister was in the Air Force. She said she had been places where the stuff she was carrying represented a year’s income to the natives. Her take was, I don’t want to be anyplace where what I have on me is that our of proportion to the income of the people around me.
Dominican Republic bump for later.....
I got sick from water in Fiji.
However, I did not get sick in Mongolia. The Mongolians boil or cook everything before consuming it.
That’s a reasonably strong theory with one exception. Why is it that only the Americans are becoming acutely ill and dying at these hotels? Brits & other Euros vacation in DR as well.
Escape from Staten Island.
They're just quoting Fijian cannibals. ;^)
?Fentanyl? Mixed in with the Minibar goodies. Plastic soda and Airline sized Alcohol bottles, use a Hypodermic Needle to introduce it. At the top of the bottles using the air space so that no leaks appear.
“palm trees and alcohol in Florida”
Rumor has it we are connected by roads to Florida, and no passport required. No TSA theater to get there, shoes on or off as your own preference while driving.
And as an added benefit, some people in Florida actually speak English.
