So far, all of these deaths have happened at just two hotels, both owned by a Spanish family-run hotel group. There’s some suspicion that it’s “industrial sabotage” by someone with a grudge against the company.
At the moment, I read that investigators seem to be leaning towards the theory that an insecticide was used to poison the drinks. Two other guests were sickened by some chemical in the room (in the AC?) and it was found that they had organophosphate poisoning.
I wonder how long this has been going on? The Dominican authorities have not been very helpful on this.
That’s a reasonably strong theory with one exception. Why is it that only the Americans are becoming acutely ill and dying at these hotels? Brits & other Euros vacation in DR as well.
