A sign alluding to a historical massacre of Jews was carried openly at the annual al-Quds Day hatefest in downtown Toronto on Saturday afternoon, the B’nai Brith of Canada reported Sunday.
The sign depicts the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem and warns that, “The last Khayber is ready,” an allusion to an ancient battle in which a Muslim army defeated and slaughtered Jews in the Arabian Peninsula. It also predicts the coming of “the last Hayder,” a nickname for Ali, the leading figure in Shi’a [Shi’ite] Islam.
Shi’a [Shi’ite] clerics are among the speakers and organizers of the Toronto al-Quds rally, and many attendees are brought by buses from Shi’a mosques across the Greater Toronto Area.
In 2017, the use of a related slogan at a Mississauga, Ont., protest sparked an online furor and a temporary ban on anti-Israel rallies at the city’s Celebration Square.
As in previous years, flags of the Hezbollah terrorist organization and the Islamist regime in Iran were also spotted at the rally.
Rally organizers admitted that they did not have a permit to block city streets. On May 14, Toronto City Council voted unanimously to crack down on “hate activity” taking place on city property without a permit.

There’s a pop song, called the Khayber song, in which the lyric runs, in effect, (rough translation),
“watch out, O Jew, the army of Mohamed is returning”
a reference to the slaughter and beheading of around 700 (or more) Jews (likely including the participation of Mohamed himself)

Yes well they’re extremely dangerous what with their hate- filled upbringing all during their childhood. It’s anti-Christian to the max. And anti- Jewish - very sad - they’re a cancer on the human race
I live here. It’s still a good city but it definitely has gone downhill since the days of yore. Many of the problems are familiar to American cities today. Homelessness, bad traffic and roads, overcrowded transit and runaway real estate costs to name a few. It is amazingly multicultural but because of that no group really dominates over any other. Muslims are pretty obvious but there just isn’t room for them to grow much here since large contingents of Chinese and Indians are also here. Most blacks originate from the Caribbean so the racial animosity is slightly different from the US version.
Do I miss the old days? Sort of but one has to deal with the time one lives in not the past which is now history. For the most part most get along as best one can because if your job involves interacting with the public you’re going to see a virtual UN mix of people. I remember talking to a cop some years ago and he said he woke up listening to the news to find out what troubles were going on in the world because for sure there would be some protest from some group taking place somewhere due to what he heard.

I attended Atkinson College of York University but what muslims we had were mostly Syrian Gauloises smoking doubles for Popeye’s Bluto. I’d hate to see those guys get in charge. We had a fair contingent of Israelis, too. They must have bugged out.
