At least 11 people were killed after a gunman opened fire at a municipal building in Virginia Beach, Virginia, police Chief James Cervera told reporters Friday night.
The shooter also is dead, Cervera said.
The shooter was a public utilities worker, he said.

The media will only make it a gun control issue if the shooter is white. If the shooter is black, this story will go away within 24 hours.

Gun free zones could work in a gun free country. In United States civilians have been buying guns since they were invented. This is opposite of a gun free country. There are estimated 400,000,000 guns in civilian hands. That is more than all the combined total of guns in civilian hands in the world. Gun free zones in US is invitation to psycho’s to go in and kill as many defenseless people as possible before cops show up. When cops finally arrive, the cowardly psycho simply throws his hands up and surrenders. Then we must feed hi and clothe him and give him medical services paid by tax payers.
Only way this mayhem will reduce a great deal is if all Americans are allowed concealed carry without restrictions.

The mass shooter is rarely black. Usually white and more recently some of Moslem stripe.
Not unusual. It often takes time to release the suspect's name. There's a lot of protocol they have to take. For one, they have to be 100% sure they know who he is. And then there's next of kin and whatnot.
Too many people think that if the name isn't released in the first ten minutes, it's a conspiracy. We'll know who he is soon enough.
I say it is the culture rot coming to full fruition. Starting with Dr. Spock and snowballing from there.

The police are NOT in building 2 (public works). The PD is building 11 one block over.

I would agree with this. That's why there's no easy answers. Society is broken and it's going to get worse before it gets better.
