Surely there's another pro-life conservative in Alabama besides Roy Moore. Whether or not he was treated fairly in the last election, he lost. He needs to be a man and get out of the way. It's not all about him.

Sure wish he’d come out this strongly against swamp creatures who have been siding with illegal aliens and their employers against the citizens and the rule of law.

I love Roy Moore. But I think once you lose you bow out. I wish he’d mentor a good younger man who can hold the seat for decades.

Mo Brooks. End the madness and get that Democrat the hell out of this Republican seat. Democrats nearly torpedoed Kavanaugh because they stole this seat. Enough.

Luther Strange, the ‘Establishment’ guy who lost the primary to Roy Moore voted with Trump like 98% of the time while he was in the Senate. That’s the bottom line. Bannon and his buddy Gorka tried to work the base into a frenzy so they would back a guy that they knew would probably lose in the general election. Those are two guys I don’t trust any more.

We lost a seat we should have won because Roy Moore was the candidate. Now, I don’t criticize those who voted for him, or those who think he was treated unfairly. And I don’t criticize Roy Moore for running last time. But if anything, last election revealed the baggage that comes with a Roy Moore candidacy. Maybe that baggage is totally unfair - smears from the left. But it’s reality. I don’t blame Moore for running last time. But if he runs this time, I do blame him.

If he runs, he’s deliberately putting Alabama voters in a difficult position - vote for a guy whose values they share but may have a hard time getting elected, all because he wants to put his personal vindication above the interests of the state and the country. If he cared about the issues he cares about, and cared about the voters in his state, he would find someone who shares his values, and who is not likely to attract the controversy he does, and endorse him. Getting someone who holds his values and beliefs into the Senate should matter a lot more to him than personal vindication -that is if he is a true statesman who puts aside his ego.

FWIW the congress critter moving up to run for this office is your classic RINO on illegal immigration — claiming to be for border security and against amnesty, but then in finer print for boosting H2-Bs, etc., and for offering a path to legalization, etc.

I believe Donald Trump wants whatever is best for the Republican Party and the country. Even if Roy Moore is the best man he needs to step aside for the sake of the party and our country. It too important for one man’s ego.

Roy could win if it weren’t for “conservatives”.

Republicans who don't support the Deplorable Agenda let Roy Moore lose. President Trump should be much stronger in his support for him now, unlike during that awful smear campaign.

Don Jr. spoke out against him. I'm through with respecting Don Jr. He should just SHUT UP, after leaving his wife and children for a shiny toy.

I voted for Mo Brooks in the AL GOP 2017 primary. In my eyes Moore was damaged goods by being removed from the ALSC 2X! I voted for Roy Moore in the general election.

Moore did not campaign that last weekend before the election. He went to a U.S. Military Academy football game. I never saw anything come of his supposed lawsuits against his female accusers. His time is past, and I hope he realizes it.

I have voted against U.S. Sen. Richard Shelby in the last 2 AL GOP primaries in which he was a candidate. He was a DemonRat before he switched to the GOP. His voting record on GOP issues has been weak for years. He's in his 80's now. Stabbing Roy Moore in the back just adds to my contempt of Shelby.

As stated upthread, Mo Brooks has, for the moment at least, withdrawn from the primary for U.S. Sen. Doug Jones seat. Reading between the lines, one gets the impression that he thinks he is just too unknown in LA (Lower Alabama). He remains my preference.

The apparent GOP frontrunner is U.S. Rep. Bradley Byrne, a RINO who is in the pocket of the AEA (Alabama Education Association). Only as a last resort would I vote for him.

Moore is a friggin retard and his campaign is a perpetual dumpster fire. Even his wife contributed a suitably cringy “our lawyer is a Jew!” comment as a cherry on top. Deport him please, POTUS.

Moore made an ass of himself and will not be taken serious if he runs again....pulling the handgun out was clumsy and it seemed like he didn’t really think about it before he did it..no matter his thoughts, the optics were bad and he didn’t do a good job defending himself against the attacks.
