In an interview over the Memorial Day weekend, former federal prosecutor Joe diGenova told a D.C. radio station that a battle royale is taking place within the Justice Department between Attorney General William Barr and FBI Director Christopher Wray, as well as other elements of the intelligence community.
At issue, said diGenova, are efforts by Barr and the Trump administration to restore accountable government to federal law enforcement and intelligence agencies who have long been free to operate virtually independently of any real congressional and Executive Branch oversight to the point where they have become excessively corrupt.
DiGenova, who is still a practicing attorney with a law firm in D.C., said that Barr has met resistance from Wray and others within the Justice Department as he has attempted, on instructions from POTUS Donald Trump, to get to the bottom of the Spygate scandal and coup attempt that originated in the Obama administration.

Who among We the People would be on the side of nonaccountable government agencies?
***************
Millions of federal employees.
This is just more run out the clock time wasting. Barr is in on it too, unfortunately. There is just no will inside the beltway to prosecute criminal Democrats to the benefit of Donald J. Trump. Nothing will change that as long as Trump is in the WH.
I’m surprised Wray was chosen, but I am more surprised that he is still there.
Was there any tornado damage on Staten Island late yesterday?
In government, it is called slow-walk and wait for the next administration. Study, clarify, re-write ops manual, but do not act.

Well said.
Delay, dissemble, and distract. Stonewalling to protect themselves.
The Swamp protects its own.
“I have no idea why Trump appointed this guy Wray?”
The first time I heard this guy speak on TV, he oozed sleaze. (I thought Trump was supposed to have magical powers in sizing up people.)
Put your enemies out in the open, let them screw up, nail them. Seems logical to me.

Correct. Barr has not indicted any of the low hanging fruit criminal Democrats. The fact that that has not happened shows that Barr is in on the slow walk, too. Mueller had perjury traps, indictments and guilty pleas in months. There is no evidence Barr has that sense of urgency.
Clearly, there are people around Trump who have his ear. He’s made some bad decision like SOC Tillerson, but that came as a highly regarded rec from Oondileeza Rice.
I agree this guy Wray strikes me as an obstructionist dochebag.
I see him getting the axe here.
Can someone explain why he was chosen?...
Maybe Trump wanted to get him in the cross-hairs.
Keep your enemies closer, etc.

Look what happened to Trump’s MAGA Fed picks. DOA when they got to the useless United States Senate. Nearly all of Trump’s bad staff picks have been Senate confirmable positions. I don’t believe that is a coincidence.
And to make things worse, he rides way, way too long with them (can you say Jeff The Little Southern-fried Pr!ck Sessions as a shining example?).
How soon we forget POTUS was publicly threatened by Senators of his own party not to fire Sleepy Sessions.
As the spouse of a senior manager and retired military officer, I can assure thats wrong
Barr didn’t need instructions from Trump. Barr is doing his job and he has lotsa unanswered questions.
“... to the point where they have become excessively corrupt.”
I read this as some corruption is acceptable...
It is not.
Chris Christie
Barr is in on what?
Mr. President FBI Director Wray is not doing what you ordered. Ask him to “stop by” your office very soon. Tell Wray to do it. Provide a deadline. Then start talking to Wray’s replacement. Wray will “get it”. He is no better than Sessions, by the way. GET YOUR TEAM MEMBER INTO WRAY’S POSITION VERY SOON!
No. Fire Wray before he gets worse! Waiting allows more disloyalty. Dismiss him.
