I think there’s an alternate purpose for releasing this - Dr. Alvida King is a very outspoken Pro-Life advocate. If/When they put these out - they will try to diminish and tarnish her voice and reputation.

The man has been a fraud since he was a child, the same way Rosa Parks was a fraud. King and Parks were both trained at the Highlander Folk School in Tennessee, which was a well known CPUSA training center. Parks refusing to give up her seat, was not a spontaneous act as portrayed, it was a planned and calculated action.

It has appeared through history that great people had sexual perversions and secrets. Sometimes I wish we didn’t have to know them.
Yes, I do think we need in general to understand that even good people can have major flaws. And we need to de-pedestal the ones who engaged in crimes (sounds like MLK might be one of these). We need to know most truths. We want the truth and we need to be able to HANDLE the truth.
This is just personal desire, because I am fascinated by mental health, but I also revere privacy: I don’t need to know sexual details about great people in the past, from their kinks or organs or orientations. But yes, if they were secretly committing crimes or clearly harming people, I’d like to weigh their good deeds against that and stop any admiration.
Bill Cosby is a good example. His good comedy is forever tarnished in my mind because THERE ARE FUNNIER MEN WHO DIDNT NEED TO DRUG AND RAPE WOMEN. So his work is trash to me now that I know. Tim Conway who passed recently didn’t have to do any of that, and was far funnier. Bill Cosby was a blight on the planet no matter how funny he might have been. Sum total is a negative for him. He had a choice of life and he chose to be a serial rapist.
So MLK may not make it through this revelation either. Some amazing speeches, bravery to fight for human rights, but if he’s involved in cruel rapes...
Eventually MLK will be treated as an “Uncle Tom” by the Left.
