On the eve of Memorial Day, President Trump is weighing pardons for military service members and contractors charged with war crimes. Its hard to imagine a worse string of offenses: murdering Afghan and Iraqi unarmed civilians, killing prisoners and desecrating a battlefield corpse.

Apparently the author is too stupid to imagine that these men may have been wrongfully convicted.
The Chron lecturing us on military discipline.
That’s funny right there, I don’t care who you are.
We send these men to awful countries inhabited with killers. We tie one hand be their back with rules of engagement, under highly dangerous, tressful situations. And this is how we treat them?
“Who to believe the Chronical editorial board or the Commander and Chief???? “
I stopped subscribing to the Gay Ronical about 2 decades ago.
Nothing that is printed by these sobs should ever be considered to be real news.

“Its hard to imagine a worse string of offenses”
How about being deported 5 times from the US and coming back again and murdering and raping multiple children?
Terrorists, by definition, are civilians. They do not wear uniforms, are not part of a recognized military hierarchy, are not subject to government control.
Wait til the big war comes with China and Trump has War Powers. Lots of folks going to jail and The Camps. CNN will be taken over by the Government and Ivanka Trump will be placed in charge. Snowflakes will be drafted, men and women (only women with babies will be except—watch abortion numbers drop like a stone). Change will happen over night under a wave of Patriotism.
LOL
douchebag jihad lovers
Fake news from the turd capitol of the country.
Many of these men are innocent and were framed. Do your homework!!!
Do the Chronicle editors wipe the human feces off their feet when they enter the building?
When Wikipedia, Google or Facebook commit crimes are those acts war crimes?
Ok. I’ll read the SF Chronicle article. “If the president acts, hell essentially cancel the ideals of personal responsibility.”
“Personal responsibility” is something ethical people understand very well.
I toured the SF Chronicle offices in 1995 and saw a big room full of messy desks. Herb Caen was lucky and had his own office with a door. Yeah, the same Herb Caen who was always insulting people who were against adultery in his columns.
I read the entire pitiful screed.
The editorial board never mentions our brave military is all volunteer.
I defy the editorial board to save their pity for the dead civilian terrorists who were more than likely enemy combatants in the chaotic war zone.
Several of these charges were brought against our brave men years after the alleged event.
Commander-in-Chief Donald J Trump has every right to pardon whomever he wants. The San Francisco Chronicles Editorial Board be damned.
How is killing terrorists who attack them, “military misconduct”?
They should get medals for that, not jail.
Trump is doing the right thing that he pardons theses US military people.
“Its hard to imagine a worse string of offenses”
Seriously? This writer needs to be drafted and sent to Afghanistan.
