President Trump's rally Monday in Montoursville, Pennsylvania (a very interesting choice of location) drove a smashing victory for the Republican running for Congress in the 12th District.  With all the ballots counted, Republican Fred Keller defeated Democrat Marc Friedenberg by more than a two-to-one margin.  Via the New York Times:

This is an even higher margin that was enjoyed by Republican Tom Marino, who was a multi-term incumbent — usually a significant advantage.  For a new name on the ballot to outpoll an incumbent in the same district is significant.  Via Ballotpedia:

Stacey Abrams did personally declare victory in the special election claiming that she would have won had all the vote suppression not taken place. She intends to fulfill the congressional duties while continuing to serve as the true governor of Georgia.

Keep in mind that this district was redrawn by the PA Supreme Court just after the Democrats took control of it.

They included much of State College in the district, making it more liberal since Penn State University is located there.

Every local newspaper in the district had letters supporting Friedenberg, the Democrat.

Trump’s rally on Monday helped GOP turnout.
